150 watt hps + cfl grow=the bomb nuggets

whats up guys. new on here but been lurking for a while. just gaining knowledge and what not. this is my current grow i've got going on. i've got 3 bag seeds from a bag of some decent stuff about 3 weeks into veg and another bag seed plant about 5 weeks into flower.

current veg setup is a little ghetto and consists of a 3ft x 2.5ft x 1.5ft wardrobe box thing i came across. cost me nothing so i can't complain. it has two 10in single speed fans and a smaller 3in fan for extra circulation.

the lighting in the veg box currently consists of four 23 actual watt 6500k cfls with the ability to hook up another 8 if i so choose for a total of 276 actual watts ( i had all 12 hooked up but was having a hard time keeping the temps down).

plants are all growing in fox farms ocean forest and using the fox farms trio of liquid fertilizers. grow big, big bloom and tiger bloom. and a little molasses every other watering or so :-P

i have lst'd all 3 currently in veg. not sure if i want to try doing a scrog setup...haven't decided yet. here are the 3 i have vegging right now.

my current lady that i have flowering was just a bag seed from nice bag i got a while back. she was vegged for about four weeks under four 23 watt cfls and then is currently flowering under a 150 watt hps in a closet.

that's about all i have going on at the moment. going to make some slight modifications to both the veg box and the closet i'm using to flower probably later on this week. so stick around :joint:

Looks good and I'm scribed. Hey! Try spreading the bulbs out to the corners. It would be better to surround the plants than to surround the light. When you hook up all 12 cfls do you have them all on splitters from that one wire?

thanks for stopping by muffy. i did have four in each corner but borrowed the lights and splitters to add a few extra watts to the bag seed i have flowering now. and i have 3 of those clamp on work lights each with 3 y splitters. seems to work alright other than getting a little warm. its a trial and error kind of thing ;-)

nice grow MC.. I have a very similar grow in the process. I have a few questions maybe you can help ... what pot size are you flowering with? I have a cabinet thats 30''h 20''w 11''d could I use a 150w hPS in there? if so how much cfm would I need to exuast heat? well I'm subscribed good luck, I can't. wait. to see the dry weight.

Sweet MC I happen to have a tent coming tomorrow that is same exact dimesions as that cab! 1.5' (18") x 2.5' (30") x 3' (36") and will be running a 150hps and most likely some cfls as well. Should be interesting to see your grow.

Tomorrow when I get the tent and carbon filter I plan on setting the tent up and going 12/12. My two oldest are at 4 weeks from seed and 2 at 2 weeks from seed and a couple clones showing root right now that will go in once they root well n take hold of the soil.

I am using FFOF with added perlite, wormcastings, and dolomite lime and use purely organic nutes only (FF Big Bloom, Neptunes Harvest 0-1-1 Seaweed, NH 2-3-1 Fish/NH Seaweed, 2-4-1 Fish, Alaska Fish Fert 5-1-1, blackstrap molasses, Blue Mountain Organics Super Plant Tonic, and Jamaican High P Guano 1-10-1). Not all at once obviously as I try to keep it simple with the organics though it might seem like alot of additives I rarely use some of them and it is really simple for me by now.

Anyways after the rambling basically I am going to have to watch this thread and may post pics of mine on here once it is more eventful and into the flowering phase (maybe, since I frequent another forum mostly and am rarely on RIU...).

-And some other seeds i got from my own buying.

Im Growing Under GROWLUSH 130W FLUORO 25000K LAMP
Just have a few questions, if im starting off the plants inside, whats a sufficient size I should grow them too before I transplant (How much nodes, or height?), I want good outdoor yield so I might just keep the plants on 12/12 inside, Also whats the best medium to grow in before transplanting, for example can i grow in rockwool cubes indoors, under perlite boards, and if so, can I transplant rockwool cubes directly into a guerilla farm setting (Outdoor Soil), or better off growing in pots or plastic cups, and transplanting, and if you can veg them in plastic cups, will the standard white cup size do?

If anyone could help me would be greatly appreciated :D

that is one sexy diy growbox...... mine is rotten cartboard box with like 3 rolls of ductape stuck to it to hold it's "sealed" door. it leaks light , looks horrible and is FULL of wiring . stupid country that doesnt have radio-shacks and wallmarts ....

Xtcxlocstax, the pot im flowering in currently is like 2 gallons or 2.5 gallons? I can't remember off the top of my head. But I got 3 more pots for the 3 I have in veg now at the dollar store (woo!) And those ones are 3 gallons. As for the cooling of the box I wish I could be more helpful. I was originally going to use my veg box for veg AND flower but the hps got it wayyy too hot so thats why im resorting to using a closet to flower in now. Good luck in your future endeavors :leaf:
