Ok guys my last post everyone is reading it and jumping strait to replies without reading further comments. So what i wanna know is. My plants been on 18/6 for 2 weeks nearly. Now im switching to 12/12. My question is, should i leave my lights as 6500k's? or use a 6500k and a 4000k? then switch the 6500 to a 2700k making it a mix of 2700 and 4000k lights. then switch to 2700 and 2700. i read that jumping strait from 6500 to 2700 can stress them? and considering my plant is still small, i want a LITTLE bit of veg growth during the first weeks of 12/12. So it goes like this.
(Week 1- 6500k+4000k (Week 2-4000k+2700k (Week 3-2700k+2700k.

Or should i ditch the 4000k and mix 6500 with 2700? Or leave it in 12/12 for the first week with both 6500k's?

i have CFL's by the way if that helps. I want a quick harvest. Not after much weed. special occasion so a few joints would be nice. Anything more will be a bonus. Thanks for reading guys and sorry for so many posts on this website. Here my girl at 2 weeks-ish...

Currently the light mix is a 18watt 6500k 1040Lum CFL.
20watt 4000k 1300Lum CFL.

I read half of your post and rolled my eyes and went to move on to the next thread.. just being honest.. what people normally do is high kelvins for blue/veg, then low kelvins for red/flower.. either do that or just do whatever it is you are thinking of doing. You are using cfls and doing some little quick grow.. and you want it to mimic nature? c'mon man

about 12 days. Not sure exactly. i was originally gonna go with 12/12 from seed but people keep saying veg for a week or so first
U can go 12/12 now will slow it down really it's from seed plants need a certain amount of time to mature enought to goto flower u can't hurry it up lol u better waiting till u at least have 5 or 6 nodes before u flip
I recommend like I do to all cfl growers get a real light here mine at about 2 week from seedimage.jpg

Germination stage 7-10 days - Seedling Stage 1-2 weeks -Vegation Stage 1-2 mo's )at least 45 days - 60 days best) (Some plant one grows at 12/12 from seed, this is when plant is 100% sativa strains) Flower Stage 1-3 mos' ( there is a early, middle and late flower; also in that stage each require different NPK) Then Harvest &cure (cure for at least 30 days)

size has nothing to do with the plant going into flower.
most people that grow sativa's veg until they show sex n take cuts, soon as they root they go into flower.
some really shitty advice here.
best was you prolly wont get 2 joints outta that plant.

i don't see any reason switching spectrum would stress your plants.

stress factors...light, temperature, water, nutrients, pests, pathogens, pollutants

if i had a rare strain i was babying then i would probably open google and do some research. you're just going for a fast harvest then you want it to 'finish' fast use spectrum to 'finish' not veg spectrums. it's gonna veg no matter what when you flip to 12/12 until it reaches maturity to flower. that's why everyone is saying veg longer.so stay in veg spectrum at 12/12 till you see signs of flower then switch bulbs.yes both 6500's for first week of 12/12.now i gotta find scholarly articles about photo/spectral stress analysis :/

what iv come to do is this, when the lights come back on, they are staying on. 24/0 when i hit 4 or 5 nodes, i will goto 12/12 with the 6500ks for another week. Then il switch one 6500 with a 2700 for another week. then from then on out, 2700k all the way. Im growing with CFLs. Iv been doing some research and came across the C4 and C3 plants info. Since weed is c3, im going to just leave it on 24/0 until iv got 4 or 5 nodes. Then i will tip. I understand 24/0 and 18/6 dont have much of a difference in terms of growth. But the way i see it, i think it would keep it shorter for the most part which is what im after. Once iv hit 4 or 5 nodes il top, switch one light leave for another week to grow the branches a little, then yeah.

Not you dude that rob333 doesn't grow but the sun shines on every dogs ass at least once so he was right....maybe 1 or 2 grams at best...my mistake for the confusion
Dluck, you give good info, so can you tell me, when during 12/12, does the light switch have to EXACTLY on time by the second? Like, i dont have a timer, so i could be a few minutes late or early ect.. I go by the time but its usually 2 or 3 or 4 past 12 by the time i actually flick the switch. or doesnt this matter?

I recommend a timer if you can't be there to turn off/on your lights...one or two minutes isn't that big a deal but 10 mins or more either early or late could cause problems especially with a Sativa or sativa dom strain as most of them are kinda finicky...even if you're late pulling the plug be consistently late...basically just get a timer...standard models are only $10
