12/12 from seed lighting?

I've googled a good bit and can't find an answer, you guys that do 12/12 from seed do you start off with the MH until the plant starts flowering or do you just use the HPS for the whole grow? =)

You could do it either way. MH is great for the veg growth, as you know. But I've seen setup that people have and they go HPS all the way. I guess it would be a personal preference.

I used it for the first 3 days then I just switched over the HPS, hopefully there isn't a significant difference since the plant won't be vegging very long

I have read lots on the same subject.
I have also seen that using both M.H. And HPS together Give the best spectrum.
1- 600 HPS and 1-400 MH on a light mover would kick ass over a 6' long space, I am looking at a closet now!
good for Veg and flower so you can grow perpetual in one space, I am liking the idea more and more:hump::hump:

I would love to use both at the same time but I've only got a 600w and 1000w and just a closet to grow in, no way I could keep that room cool =D just using the 600w with a HPS bulb in right now and a lot of cfl's right now =)

Here is my plan /hypothesis:
Start grow by growing a female in veg for at least 60 days at 18/6 then ( I have one!) to create mature clones.

(plant in my flower is looking like it will be a 60-65 day to Flower, it's the same as the 120 day old fem in my veg!)

I will Take cuttings and change light to 12/12 in the space.

( remove t5 lighting replace with 600 watt HPS )

The largest plant will flower and Clones will mature take more clones and let first group flower.

I would just have to stay ahead of the flowering to take cuttings.

I am going to run one seed to at least 10 generations of clones.

From then on the setup would run at 12/12 from clone to flower
take clones and let mature plants flower continually.

Sound like a good plan??

My opinion (seen it work wonderfully ) in 12/12 from seed: From germ until showing sex ( approx 21-25 days ) under a 150W HPS, then moved ( in the same closet ) under a 250W HPS for 35 days, then moved ( in the same closet ) under a 400W HPS until chop-chop time. For the most part, every move signals new beans to be germinated, resulting in a perpetual growing pattern.....all the lights are operating in one area, the plants just move from left to right under increasingly higher wattage lights.

I would use MH for the first couple of weeks, as it keeps the plant tighter and reduces stretch.

However, I'm running a perpetual, so it has to be HPS from the beginning (I have three stages of growth in flower at all times).

I was hoping that my really close cfl's would help with the stretching, think that'll help? on each cfl plugin there is 1 5k and one 2700k (both 23w). and I was planning on switching to my 1000w hps once they got a little bit bigger, right now my 600w is at 75%. all good in the neighborhood?
