10x10 tent 4k watt help me :)

Hello all newbie here

Looking for some help/advice on my setup.
Some history:
Basement with 6 1/2' ceiling
Medium: soil (pro-mix)
Nutes: cyco platinum kit, great white, AN calmag plus (using RO water), snowstorm ultra.
Propagation: clones taken right before 12/12 switch so they get about a 6wk veg after coming out of the cloner
Strains:Ghost og 10wk flower
Gg4 8wk flower
Pakistani purp kush x purp bubba kush -csi humboldt 8wk flower
I Defoliate day 1 day before flower for ghost (its extremely leafy this is a must ive found)and again day 21 for all strains

*3 grows completed
1 30x30 tent single plant (ghost og) 10g pot 750w (1000w batwing turned to 75%) scrog out, battled heat the whole grow 100deg at times 9 1/2oz yeild lots of foxtails. This grow was all about learning. From nutes (lots of stuff falling out of solution) to lst, lollipop, super cropping, scrog. This grow made me relize i knew nothing about growing

1 10x10 1000w batwing + cheap "1000w"LED more like 200w (3 Ghost og and 4 gorilla glue #4) all 10g fabric pots. I used about half the space. arranging plants in a U shape around 3 sides of the tent. Had all plants scrogged but eventually took the ghost out of the nets and left them freestanding so i could huddle everything closer for better light. Yeild was 1.2lbs

1 10x10 2200w (1000w batwing + hydrofarm 6" aircooled hood + crappy LED) dead of winter temps were amazing. 14 plants (6 ghost,6 glue, 2 very small paki). Gg4 in scrog everything else tomato cages freestanding. Yeild was 2.4lbs

Current setup:
10x10 tent 4000w 3 cooltube aircooled hoods + 1 batwing. Running 14 plants(6 glue scrogged+ 7 ghost and 1 paki in Tomato cages freestanding) in 7 gal plastic pots. 3 hoods are aircooled pulling air from outside thru them and exhausting outside. My temps stay 73-77 if it hits 77 a 6" fan starts forcing in cool air from outside. Nightime temps will drop to 64 at the lowest. 55%RH
Yeild: not looking good maybe 3lbs

Veg space:
Approx 3 1/2' x 5' gardening greenhouse with 1 t5 4 bulb unit. 3.5gal 21 spot aero cloner.

Buying a 3.5ton mini split in a few weeks for cooling during summer

Things im thinking of doing
Hortilux bulbs! Ive been using cheap ipower bulbs and think my yeilds suffered because of it. I will be switching in the next few weeks after seeing this https://www.rollitup.org/t/think-your-bulb-doesnt-matter-hortilux-comparison-blowout-pictures-say-it-all.355137/

Switching to coco.
I think this will solve my slow veg growth along with generally beefier plants and bud. If i do this i will switch to canna coco a and b ryzotonic and a bloom booster. I have a 40 gal res with 100gal a day RO system so i would just need all the fun stuff(pump, tubing, flow valves on each plant) this would be a huge improvement getting some sort of auto or semi auto watering set up as i currently have to pull plants out of the tent and shuffle them around to hand water.

Open hoods once mini split is installed so glass and cooltubes wont block my precious light im paying for

Switching nutrient lines. Cyco is ok ive had decent results n it flushes clean. But its like 12 bottles and a whole lot of mixing. I was thinking i would switch to Mills as the guys at the local hydro place swear by it and its only 4 or 5 bottles. That was untill i saw my buddys grow in coco same week of flowering and buds twice the size! I was speechless. Stalks like fists .

Lowering my number of flowering plants from 14 to 10? 8? I top and lst and scrog to get as many tops as i can and clean up the bottoms but still end up with a decent amount of side larf or underdeveloped bud. From everything being so packed in there

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Should i get out of the tent n build a panda film room?
Plant count? Is 14 to much for 10x10 with 6 weeks of veg time? Can 8 plants fill a 10x10 with only 6 weeks of veg? I want to keep cycles perpetual as i can with no added veg time. Give me all your suggestions i will upload pics if i can figure it out

Do you have pictures of what size the plants are when go into flower? If you hit 3 lbs you are at 3.4 zips per plant. That is kinda low for 60 day veg. Coco is definitely better than dirt at least for me. Is it possible you water too often, this is and always will be why I don’t do any good in dirt. I would expect at least 5 or 6 zips for most strains on 60 day veg with proper lighting.

Anyways post up some pics and maybe a few of us can help you get squared away. It’s all just guessing until can see some pics.

Also do you have a plant count limit as i seem to do better with 30 day veg and more plants. Anywhere from 12-18 in a 4x8 in 3 gallons of coco. I shoot for 3 zips per plant with 18 if I veg a lil longer and run 12 I get 4.5-5 in 3 gallon. Every run is different but as you can see I’m pulling almost the same or more from3 gallon pots under 1830 watts of hps cmh mix( numbers were same before switching out one hps with 630 cmh, it uped the quality but yield remains similar).

Don’t get discouraged and if your environment is staying in a good range I wouldn’t drop a lot more money til you get dialed in. Although I do like hortilux bulbs so that’s prob a good idea.

If you wanna make immediate switch to coco and don’t have time or money to set up a drip system you can use a water wand and sump pump to water. It’s time consuming and have to be there every day at same time but it works well. Thsts why I run 3 gallon pots so I only have to water once a day. When I get my drippers going I’ll go down to 2 gallon pots or smaller.

I would run 4-7 plants per 1000w light with that veg time.

I think your veg lighting is one of your limiting factors right now. Get more light, quicker veg growth.

Pictures:
1 room set up sometime before day 21 of flower

2 canopy same time frame

3&4 training/ leg shots ;)

5 plants day 1 of being moved from veg to flower tent under MH

6 everything cleaned up and layed out

7 5 days after cleanup just before flower

8&9 some medine from last run

Pics added. These were vegged in dead of winter in a basement so little colder than ideal temps and you might be right about over watering in veg! In flower its every 2 days or when the pot feels light i adjust how much i give it dep how it feels but for the most part its every 2 days the amount just varies.
Veg is a different story "solo cup stage they stay moist for days n days might water once a week? Once they goto their 1 gal pots its every 3 days or so i have to water. I always go by the "check the weight of the pot method" besides in the solo cups

That was my same thought veg lighting sucks and cramming 14 plants into that area with a cloner and 2 motherplants they battle for light untill they go into the big tent. Also think im starting my training a little to early and possibly topping to often? I try to make as many tops as i can before flower but i think i am over thinking it stressing me and the plants, letting the plant stack up then bending it over in the scrog will make my tops i dont think i need to top as much and let the plant do the work?

I basically have 4 per 1000w per 5x5 area minus a small area in front of the door that has only 2 plants. Also i have alot of room in my plant count so i could do more. Just feel like its to crowded currently.

Hmm my first question after seeing pics is what makes you say 3# out of this run? That tent is stacked. You might be onto something about too many branches tho. In my experience when I run big plants with lots of branches vs medium with 6-8 good tops I always seem to do better off the medium plants. Do you end up with a lot of larf? When I run plants too big that happens to me, but I see people run big plants all the time and do well so not saying for sure this is your problem it’s just a thought.

Very nice pics and I’d be surprised if current run didn’t surpass your estimate. As I don’t grow in soil maybe I’m off on guessing. Also how long do you wait to harvest sometimes they can look ready but if go a little longer the buds firm up and add weight.

Why i say maybe 3# is im a pessimist lol :) idk the tent looks similar fullness wise to my previous 2k watt grow. In the past the ghost has made up alot of the weight cause it stacks so tight and this round it did not, it stretched alot with big node spacing. Still have 4 and 6 weeks till havest so theres time.and the hortilux are now shinin bright so fingers crossed. My yeild is not including larf last run was 2.4# good usable dense medicine. If its gunna turn to shake in the jar i throw it in the hash pile. 2.4# usable from 2k watts and prolly another 4-5 zips of larf. As far as too many branches i beleive whats happening is im topping to often so the branches never really reach that mature node stacking growth before i flip in flower. I have alot of undermature branches that mature as their stretching in the first weeks of flower and the topping along way is stressing/slowing the overall growth. I will top less this next round focusing on letting nodes stack tight then bend the whole plant over to fill the screen n turn all of my horizontal growth into vertical tops. At the advise of a buddy i think i will defoil day 24 instead of day 21 to prevent secondary leafs from popping out in The following days.
What do you think about the plant size going into flower? They got almost an extra month of veg in the big tent and i topped 2 times in that span. (After topping thru veg also) maybe i would have been better off laying em out n flipping after they recovered? Less tops but better light for each one? My end goal is 3# a light but ill be happy if i can hit 2 a light in soil. I think ill definitely be switching to coco for the next run tho the growth rates are crazy and ide have much more vigorous plants goin into and thruout flower.

I’m a bad guesser myself when it comes to yield I’ll think I killed it sometimes and be disappointed and others I thought did so so and surprise me. Plant size looks good to me you filled out the room well it looks. I can’t imagine only adding .6lb with two more lights so hopefully your wrong. It seems to me an underlit room might develope the same amount of budsites or close to it but then when the plants get thicker and need more light it’s not there. Hopefully now with the added lights you will get a much better swell and even further into the plants those middle buds add good weight with enough light. I have run underlit rooms in summer and thought I killed it because it looked to be the same or better but the numbers were way lower.

I hope you are right my friend :) i cant guess to save my life.
What do you feel about staggered harvests? I could take all the tall tops off when ready and give everything underneath another week or 2? Let it get some direct light. Would that 1 or 2 weeks even affect yeild or density? Mainly thinking about doing this for the gg4 in the scrog as they have waay to many tops and alot of growth being shaded

I am short on veg space so I never really do staggered harvest I reload flower the day it comes down. That being said if your next round isn’t ready then it can’t hurt, if your new round is ready to go then I wouldn’t over veg them waiting.

My thought is gg4 is 8wk flower and the most densly packed into the scrog, the ghost is 10wks flower so if i pulled the tops off the gg4 i could wait upto 2 weeks before i would harvest the ghost and the lowers of the gg4. That way i wouldnt mess up my timing for next harvest room would still get switched at the same time

switch to coco, cut the veg time, and do a lot of LST and supercropping in veg. when you switch to flower and they stretch, scrog them out wide, let the light penetrate

your grow looks good for #4 m8 keep it up

Thanks man, plan for next round is 9 plants instead of 14. In coco. Have a mini split half installed right now just waiting to put up the indoor unit in untill i pull the 8wkers so i got room to work. Then exactly what you said been supercroping in veg once in flower scroging wide and flat as i can to get every bud maximum light. Dtw tables and auto watering. Switching to canna coco nutes also. Big changes wish me luck.

Looks good! Try some hortitrellis next time, its way better than that string stuff that stretches and leaves little fibers in the weed.
