20 yards of black gold (compost) were delivered today, 16 boxes were filled 1/2 way now I'm waiting for a friend to bring his tiller by so we can mix the other ingredients, super soil, blood meal, perlite, vermiculite and chicken manure.:hump:

The new digs are looking nice with that new pool and new planters. I was thinking to put shade cloth up during flowering on the sides, like doublejj's grow tent but bigger (20 x 30). That ought to keep those pillers to a minimum. Im more worried about the high natural humidity and bud rot which I have some spray for that too. The fight goes on. I gotta get my ground area ready as the seedlings keep getting bigger daily with the good suns help. Better get Mommas planters done she needs a place to have fun too.

Looking good Hodge. How long did just the excavation take for the pool? I've been doing all the excavation for a luxury pool company for the last 4 seasons here. I'm usually in and out in no more than 2 days.

Mom's beds are being built already, her's are 6'x12'x20" flowers and veggies are coming back to the homestead. Excavation was done in 2 days if I recall? What took time was the relocation of part of the septic system, permits, another perk and weather but it's all good now.
GT, got to thinking about those caterpillars and came to the conclusion that I will get better results from the spray if used in the evening instead of morning. Was told the sprays I was using had a 12 hour life (live bacteria) the moths come out at night so if I spray at night or at least in the late afternoon? Well that's the plan anyway..lol

Started another 100 CP seeds today, don't know why? Friend has some he started 15 days ago and said I can get what I need. Oh well!, always do a cover crop..lol
Just a little work done today, couldn't get the Mantis tiller so it will be Mon or Tues before we get any starts in the beds.. Was a beautiful day today, highs in the lower 80s but wind was 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 40 mph.

Well just get some Sluggo. Its safe for the pets but deadly for the snails and slugs. We will just have to reload the nurseries brother. The second wave is going in Wed. Mine arent as far along as yours, as usual, so I will be playin catch up. I have some real interesting strains this year but I have only seen them grown indoor so it will be interesting to see them outside. I need to make a trip up there to see the Son and his family. I will let you know when

That's cool, expect smaller yields with indoor varieties at least for a year or so.. Bring a kite, windy for the next few days...lol

Beds were tilled and watered for the first time last evening, will break a rule and place plants into boxes today. The amount of manure doesn't worry me it's the compost? Stuck my hand into beds and didn't feel much heat, wish me luck...

I think they will be ok if you can not feel any heat. Lay that antisnail stuff down and kill those slimy bastards.

Purchased some Snail and Slug mini pellets and will be spreading some today. Did get 2 more plants into the boxes yesterday, purple powers to go with the 5 white queens. Hope to find a few more females today? Didn't notice any adverse reaction to planting the white queen so early after mixing, so it looks like all is good...
