Well, maybe...I think the whole nute biz is a scam...but if you consume your harvest yourself it may be a good thing. Just trying to live a little more naturally...my veggies seem to grow really good organically...Plus in a soup of disassociated ions, trouble can happen very easily. People are always worried about salt build up, but that is what the nutes are made of, salts.

To each there own. I think the supplement market that is aimed directly at MJ growers is a total scam. Composted manure based teas are rich in all the micro nutes as well as good bacteria and fungi. We sometimes use products to boost the soil web, but then feed them salts, which if they are even able to consume, continue there search for a stable state which can wreak havoc on cell membranes.

But I am sure if you just want to grow big fat buds really fast to flip, you could spend a lot of money and get your desired effect.

I have used several different nutes, FF with the trio and without and seen very little difference and none that I could say was because of the great nutes. I do see a visible difference using some sort of myco/bacteria (SPT/great white/worm poo tea), and I do see visible difference when pH swings high. And some humic acid, but most organic nutes include all but the pH adjustment.

Get what ever balance of NPK and use what ever ppm she likes.

For me I have a perpetual grow with moms, babies vegging, and usually at least three different flowering cycles, so the trio is a pain to be mixing up 2 or 3 flower nutes and veg nutes. So then I compared the ingredients of the trio and there similar NPK levels, quit using open sesame all together...anyhow. I want it to be simpler...veg, bloom, nothing fancy. I am sick of playing chemist with 4 different nutrient solutions. It was fun for a while.

I still love FF product with he exception of Tiger Bloom.

General hydroponics do an all purpose nute: http://www.genhydro.com/genhydro_US/floranova.html which is apparently very good.

Someone made a really clever way of using this and working out how much is needed to fill a res.

I cant remember the name of the calculator but it looked really good and came highly recommended by growers.

A gallon of the stuff cost $90, not really sure how that compares to FF.

Thats $90 for each, so would be $180 for a gallon of the bloom and a gallon of the veg.

EDIT: Also to add they say its super concentrated and the recommended dosage is 10ml per gallon. Normally double that for other nutes i think.

i got the jumbo one from wall-mart for like $70, nothing fancy....non-stick so a wet paper towl is all you need to clean it(if you wipe it down right after your done)...perfect for a lazy stoner, i swear burgers are so bomb on that thing...and the amount of fat left in the tray is kind of disgusting....
pic of my other redD clone maybe 3 weeks flower...
