1,000 LBS of Fox Farm soil reviewed...

I hate to post this but I am extremely disappointed with FoxFarm's soil. I purchased 25 bags of Ocean\Happy frog and it literally looks like they filled half the bags with gravel from their driveway. I have used FoxFarms before and have been quite happy. Satisfied enough to make a large purchase of soil for a new grow.

Has anybody else had a similar experience with a recent FoxFarm soil purchase?

Every bag that I have is filled with gravel and bark I can't even believe it each time I open a bag it's more of the same.

There's always a few pieces of bark in my bags, not enough for me to complain about though. Got any pictures of this gravel?

Bark yes gravel no .....the only thing I've noticed about ffof in the last few years IMO is it seems mag def is the norm if you don't prepare for it ....my grow shop guy was telling me a while ago that FF got a new facility and that it was using different materials in the mix ......looked it up and people were making a fuss about quality control .....I still use it though I like it ....but I'm guna start recycling/going organic because I have a mountain of used ffof soil on my ranch ......started to play around with mixes this year using the soil ......but only issues I've had as well as others I know is running into mag def and I never use to have that issue

Yea, I always add dolomite lime to FFOF.

I was a big user of ffof. Up to last year. I felt like my plants were suffering big time. Lots of yellow and messed up growing was my experience. For over 10 years I've used ffof but I've changed to promix and add bat guano and have been pretty happy.

I'll post a picture of the gravel later as I don't feel like picking a pile out right now. I assure you there's lots of gravel in every bag.

I wouldn't even complain about the bark which is understandable.

I've been told about 3 yrs ago FF is putting hyposasis miles beneficial bugs to help with that issue.

I just h20 with promis, or BTI mosquito dunk granuals, or go gnats when I up pot/water. Problem.solved.
