    Are timers reliable?

I have a timer with a wheel, push down segments for on time. It went from 9-9, to 8-8, now 715-715. So it's changed a few times now. Do u think I bumped into it accidentally turning the knob, or is the timer not keeping the right time? Any input or similar experiences? Thanks
