Is your light a propper light for growing? is it a fluorescent light? . 12 inches away is abit too far away if it is a fluorescent. You need to be abit more specific when you say your leaves are dying. What do they look like? can you post a picture

The picture of of my top cutting growing healthy on page 1 - All i did was put it in an aerogarden seed pod, dropped it in the aerogarden and after 1 week it started to show some root so i then put it straight into soil. No special method, just basic stone age method.

Dont take my word on it but i think it will be ok.. the sudden change of temp might give it abit of shock and make flowering take a few days longer. make sure you got air flow if your thinking about making some sort of grow box
