    Arizona Growers Thread

Hi Threat, do not make too much science of growing. Just follow your good gardening principles and you will do fine.

Since this could help all the growers in Az

I am not surprised by the outcome, no matter how good of a lawyer you have. There are some point that went by me... Like the state saying mj us NOT medicine after WE told them it is. That makes no sense to me. ...and We could take their stand and charge them $150 for "voluntarily" not using...

white flies are a very minor problem...I don't even worry about them.. Never seen a mite on my outdoor...but you need a cage or a strong heart to deal with blister beetles and hoppers.

...what I ended up doing was to wrap each branch/stem with fiberglass webbing to physically keep them from gnawing the bark off That was marginally effective and very labor intensive. I think the right strains and getting the sun on and off the plants at specific times of the day will...

tried that...it was just sauce for the meal to them. It was very disheartening until the totals...but they rushed harvest, caused prermature maturation...I was picking up handfuls of bud from the ground every day...more than I was using.. It may have killed a few....but they still had to eat to...

water is THE big problem in "sustainable" here. If we aren't careful with our resources, we will get rationed enough to drink and that will be all. Mini rant----In the 40+yrs I have lived here, listening to the govt say save water while they are planting more houses. Look at the population...

    Vaporizer selection

I have run into meds that were better smoked. Not many, but, I have gotten over medicated using my SSV and forgotten whether it was AM or PM. Maybe my tolerance is low...I dunno. Hi Rrog, as you have figured...I have the standard "fittings" on my SSV

daBuddah is the low end SSV. Is that a "hands free" model? I considered getting the ground glass fittings for the SSV...but having the wand in my hand assures me it won't accidentally pop out or pull the base over or off its perch.

My production costs [water, materials]...is less than $5/oz and my meds are plenty good. .I will refrain from going off on a rant about med pricing...y'all know where I stand on that. ...but yeah..we can grow apples down here...citrus will not survive the cold, outdoors.

I guess you would call this area I'm in a semi-arid grassland. It's the cold air drainage that make it so much colder here. Our lows can be the same or colder than Mt Lemmon. It's crazy Hi Treep...that is what I AM doing. I pay for water...es todo!

My garden is fallow ATM....and it gets a little cool to start too much before the "winter rain"..and I still have grasshoppers up the ying-yang. We have had one light frost...not enough to take them down. But when it does....alfalfa, mustard, buckwheat, the spring weeds. Stuff that naturally...

I control [notice my wording...not kill] thrips by spraying my plants down with water. Just hosing them down...again, I am outdoors and because of the cool nights here...never seen a mite...outside. Indoors, yes! Worms...I manually eject them and I have a healthy number of mantids, spiders...

I would guess that the plants will tell you. Some strains feed more or are sensitive. I don't supplemental feed...well I do , sort of...I topdress with mulch and compost...And I tried molasses and water but didn't follow with it long enough to say it helped or not. I did not see any dramatic...

Being as I grow outdoors...my gardening area is hardly sterile. I tend to let the weeds get to a size before I pull them. Some HAVE to be pulled before a certain time. Blister beetles are particularly fond of lamb's quarters and devastating. They will leave you with nothing but skeletons....the...

The SSV is THE BIG HAMMER. I love mine And like Rrog, mine is on all the time...an on high, ready. And I prefer "hot" vapor as opposed to bag types, too. I have a Supreme and Solo for portables. The Supreme is almost as good as an SSV, except you have to heat the thing with a propane torch....no...

Hi Treep I scratch under our mesquites for leaf matter. Cottonwoods drop a lot, too..You might try landscape maintenance cos for debris. I imagine the farms utilize their "waste". There is an alternative. No, no leaf mold, but bales of alfalfa aren't too expensive. Last I remember, about $17/bale
