    Help pls(overwatering,underwatering,nute toxicity???)

You need to bring your lights closer. They are stretching quite a bit, which isn't what you want.

    Help pls(overwatering,underwatering,nute toxicity???)

On a budget? Get you some Scott's at any hardware store, or Walmart. Get organic potting soil if you can. It's cheap, and will be leaps and bounds better than what's on there. I'd be afraid of the lack of oxygen getting through the mud to the roots, once they get bigger. Transplant them...

    Help pls(overwatering,underwatering,nute toxicity???)

As a new grower, you should use well known brands, like General Hydroponics, FoxFarms, Aurora, etc...instead of trying to brew your own. That goes for both soil and nutrients. Stay away from Miracle Grow

    Help pls(overwatering,underwatering,nute toxicity???)

How big are the containers they're in? You want to use small starter shells, going from 1" x 1", to 2" x 2", and keep moving up as the plant grows bigger. Too large of containers will have negative effects on their ability to access the moisture they need.

    Help pls(overwatering,underwatering,nute toxicity???)

You're panicking way too early. They will always look a little odd when they first poke their head out of the soil. At this point they are using the energy stored in the shell to get them going. They will also appear to stop growing in a few days. At that time they are establishing a strong...

    Defoliation

Yes, defoliating does turn a full plant into "half" of one, but it's the half (top half) that benefits mostly from the light. The other half, in my opinion, isn't very useful to the plants growing inside. The bonsai-sized plants are usually trimmed that way due to lack of growing space. It...

    Defoliation

So, about 4 days ago these White Widow were little squat bushes. After trimming off enough leaves to fill a 5-gallon bucket, they all opened up, like a blooming flower. They've doubled in size in just a few days. These were all topped twice, and the ones that are a little further along, I...

    Defoliation

I call the big fans that block all the light below, the "asshole leaves" LOL! Reminds me of "Trees", by Rush. RIP Neil!

    Defoliation

Everyone always says, when trimming, never remove the top fans because they are filled with stored energy. But all the leaves below store energy as well, and I believe that the fans are local, and mostly store energy for the node they're attached to. I say "mostly" because trimming leaves...

    Defoliation

I wanted to talk about a few things that some people might give me shit for. But I swear by what I claim, and would never misguide newer growers. In veg, the fans on my plants get huge! They get so big on top, they block all the light to the rest of the plants, and they will just sit there...

    Defoliation

I'd say experience plays a big part. I wouldn't want to change up my method, if I'm having great results :)

    Defoliation

I totally get where you're coming from. The growers that don't trim all have great results, and the exact same thing can be said about the growers who do. For me, trimming works better. Not sure why, because it's not like I was doing anything incorrect when I was trying the no trimming...

    Defoliation

Latest trend? I'm pretty sure it's been around for quite some time :). (that was being sarcastic, not trying to be an ass). :)

    Defoliation

When growing via sunlight, I don't trim. The sun's power reaches all leaves, and a large percentage of the sun's light passes through leaves to the ones that aren't getting direct sunlight. When growing indoors, the lights aren't powerful enough to pass much through the leaves. Yes, the big...

    Defoliation

Oh, and I have let my plants grow without trimming a couple times, with very poor results. See my Grow Room link below, and go to around 5 to 10 pages before the end to see that comparisons I did.

    Defoliation

When growing inside, I highly recommend trimming. You have to make the best of limited lights, and that means trimming your plants in such a way that it makes the most out of it. But don't just start hacking off fans. Do some reading on pruning methods for cannabis plants, so that you do it...

    Adding a 600w to 1000w grow

I'm debating adding my old 600w hood/lamp, to my existing 1k. It may be a little while before I can get my QBs, which I'll be mounting each to the outside hooks. This is my first tentless grow, and I really like the access, but the big disadvantage to that is not having mylar walls for the...
