Nah man, its like trying to avoid your entire body from getting wet while using an umbrella....feet still going to get wet. A small amount of Odor will still find its way into your house because you are opening the tent and grow room to tend to the plants, usually every day or every other day...

I promise you that when she hits flowering stage you will smell a faint weed smell all throughout the house. Very faint but there. Mine is in the basement and some friends came over that didnt know about it and said they smelled a hint of weed right when they walked in. I would say carbon...

I run the Vivosun 6” and it works great. You will have some smell when you hit flowering stage throughout the same level in your home no matter what you do. If you open the door to your grow room that smell will fill the house, carbon filters get most but not all of the smell, just know that.

im running vinyl tubing for my pump lines from res to pump and from pump to site. And the tubing will just be zipped tied along top the 2” return pvc most of the way. Inside the site is a 1/2” manifold creating a waterfall shower head effect.

no, since the pump only comes with one 1” barb, if you want two then just use the included 1” female coupler and buy one male slip barb, the link I supplied is for that barb. Then you can have two 1” barbs on your pump.

So if you are running 1” tubing then you need either an extra barb (buy another pump, need a spare anyways) OR use the slip fitting and buy a 1” barb with a 1” male slip. https://www.supplyhouse.com/Spears-460-010-1-PVC-Schedule-40-Insert-x-IPS-Spigot-Adapter

@Airwalker16 These are the fittings that come with the DCP-2500, and by the pictures on Amazon look like same for the 4000... from left to right: 2x O-Ring 2x barbs (3/4” & 1”) 2x Female slips (1” ID) 2x nuts for the above

Thats the exact pump I bought last week. Bought 2 of the 2500’s for my single site build so I have a spare. Also the 2500 comes with one 1” barb and one 3/4” barb, just be aware of that. I got two so now I have two 1” barbs and a spare pump. Looks like the DCP-4000 also comes with a 1” and 3/4”...

Personally I think you have 2x returns for no reason. Id just do it like this....less material, less money, less points that can leak, same efficiency. From a fluid dynamic point of view, you gain nothing with 2 returns vice 1, you will have the same return rate whether you use 1 or 2 because...

I would stop bugging out on all the fine details. Just build it how you want to build it. 1” or 3/4” or 1/2” doesnt matter. Get water from point A to point B with a pump and allow it to naturally flow back = RDWC. Some totes, pipe, vinyl tubing, bulkheads, a few fittings to connect it all and...

I just built a 6” wood platform for it to sit on with some 2x4’s I had lying around. That makes it so the piping is level with the pre-existing duct holes. Didnt have to cut the tent. Since I SCROG the plant Im not worried about losing height.

I use a 1/2” bulkhead to feed my water fall but thats because the entry is below the water level as Im using a pvc manifold. Otherwise Id just use a gromet

Ive never done an aero system so I cant comment, but a recirculating system with a designated res is the easiest to maintain PH, nutes and water changes because you never have to move the plant and water temps can be managed easier with external res.

Totally different style of feeding, thats an aeroponics system. Some say it better, some say its worse. Just boils down to what you want to do and if your getting the results you want with your build. Maybe you build a RDWC and two grows later decide you hate it and go back to soil ‍ who knows

No, make it 6” or it wont sit flush. I undersized mine with this mindset and it didnt sit flush so I had to make it bigger.

fundamentally, nothing. Just preference and how it fits your build. If you look at the pics I posted I made square manifold with 1/2” PVC and drilled holes every inch creating a sort of rain like shower head, I wanted to maximize the waters oxygen absorption and the only way to do that is...
