Hempy bucket: coco w/ perlite, or perlite alone?

I’m no expert but I always knew there was trace elements in there but nothing of real significance and thought it was referred to as inert because the total some of nutrients is too small for any effect. In essence I think you’re both right. Just looking from opposite sides. It’s just...

Newbie. Week 8 of flower and leaves going yellow

No you’re right. Personally, I think adding feed now is a waste as your plant is using up its reserves already and you’re close to finished (waiting to be corrected). Good luck mate

Too higher a ph will lock out certain nutrients. 6.8 seems very high, what’s your runoff? Typically people aim for 5.5 to 6.5 with most settling around 5.8. Run that lower ph and you should see improvements.

Newbie. Week 8 of flower and leaves going yellow

Well there’s 2 schools of thought on that. The flush camp, use the last couple of weeks to feed just water and “flush out” any nutrients in the root zone which some believe leads to smoother smoke. The the non flushers, generally soil growers who like to feed up to crop and claim flushing is...

Good luck mate, with plenty of care you can still pull monster nuggets from those plants and I’m sure you’ll regain control.

    Beginner needs help

I used to grow with a cousin who had access to free grow bags and insisted on using them. For 12 months we battled every bug, mould, nute and ph problem I’ve heard of. We parted ways and I haven’t used a grow bag since and never had any problems I haven’t caused myself. Tomato soil is the...

    Led advice please

I haven’t seen anybody mention Kingbrite on alibaba. DIY kits, prebuilt and all the stuff to build your own design of kit from what they have. Great customer service from what I’ve read by posters here on RIU. I’m upgrading my lights atm and I’m using them. Just my 2 cents

    Best sources of info?

Sorry should of stated in original post I’m looking to find the science behind led lighting. I’ve grown for a few years with cfl and hid but only just really looking into led and there seems to be a lot I don’t know. The last leds I knew about were blurple!! Don’t wanna clog the forums with...

    Best sources of info?

I’ve been reading through the grow diary by @cobshopgrow but some of the language being bandied around is beyond my understanding. Where should I start to be able to get to grips with it all? HID was plug and play as far as spectrums, intensity, colour etc but I don’t mind saying as someone who...

Good temperature controlled fan in the uk

I had thought that, I reckoned smooth walls create no turbulence so the air should flow a little quieter. Suspicions confirmed. I have 1 straight run with no bends etc so this could be the clincher

Good temperature controlled fan in the uk

OK thanks, warning heeded. I grow about 10 feet from my head so keeping those pesky decibels in check is a must. Our lass can sleep through it but I'm not so lucky. I've tried every silencer build and trick from every forum but if your fan is a piece of shit there's only so much you can do...

Good temperature controlled fan in the uk

@Renfro @Barristan Whitebeard @coreywebster It’s good to know I can get one local, heard nothing but good things about the aforementioned diyleduk. The squirrel cage fan is a route I’d never considered before I’ll go look into it although it’s looking like a preorder. Cheers for rallying...

    Noisy Fan.

That’s the dream right there. Unfortunately most of us can’t dedicate large portions of our living space to it. This is right though, you’ll only ever get it so quiet. You will always have some noise unfortunately unless you’re willing to do all ^^^^^^^ that stuff.

    Noisy Fan.

If you go on the search function you can find tonnes of DIY tutorials for silencer boxes. Other things to try- Hanging your fan with bungee cables to reduce vibration helps, Use acoustic ducting which reduces the whooshing noise (can also diy a silencer for Ducting) There’s probably loads more...
