Cooling down towards the end, is that mainly a defense against molds?

You'd need to monitor temp at leaf and adjust accordingly to keep them equal.

Luminus CXM-32 Gen3 the next big thing??

Man these 22s change the way you think about building a light. So @CobKits , if you were asked to build a 1000w DE HPS replacement fixture, what would it be now? 10 x https://cobkits.com/product/cxm22-light-engine/ powered by $200 worth of drivers + 150 bucks for , frame, accessories etc...

    cxb3950 vs hps

Its just one reason informal "grow-offs" are not really valid ways to compare radically different lights. Do you keep both sides exactly the same, temps , canopy shape etc, and therefore favor one fixture over the other? Constructing a valid grow off is a job for a trained scientist imo.

    cxb3950 vs hps

Temp at your leaves will be 5-6 cooler under LED than HPS given the same ambient temp. due to the radiated heat from HPS

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

    If you build a ~320w fixture with 6 of thoose and a 1050a https://cobkits.com/product/meanwell-hlg-320h-c/ Can we estimate efficiency, PPF/w ? How about 4 with a 320h-1400?

Or just flopping over? It hard to know whats going on tbh.

    cxb3950 vs hps

So whats your early opinion, how do they compare? From the pics it looks like the HPS has outproduced the LED by a fair margin.

Northern Grow Lights Photon 180 Citizen 1825 90 CRI

I dont think fine roots are a problem, but the fact that they're white or close to it sounds like they were very healthy, mine were mostly dark brown.

    Matching Drivers and COBs

90-150w is more of a best-bang-for-your-buck sweet spot. The lower the watt the higher the efficiency all the way down.

    The Irish Growers Thread!

Why do some promote their soil as "100 % Peat free"? Whats wrong with peat, is it just the sustainability issue?

    Kind XL-750 LED

This is the nub of the issue here. You're throwing away yield because you bought the wrong machinery. I'd usually agree but we're in a forum for LED lights. I can go into a muscle car forum and recommend the Toyota Prius to everyone because its the only car I've ever owned and it does me fine...
