    mark's perpetual grow

I chopped the plants Sunday morning and Wednesday evening I trimmed all the buds and placed them in trays, yes I weighed the buds and they still need a 3-4 days, guess I could lose another 2% maybe it's 5% but most the water is evaporated in the first 3 days.

What to do if you have light stress in week 5 of bloom?

    Watering night before harvest

It's not the same as fast drying buds, my temps are around 20c and humidity is around 40-50% So this will not degrade the THC Keeping the temperature and humidity in range will give me the best quality bud. Slow drying my buds over a week in low temps will give me high quality buds, if I...

    Watering night before harvest

After watering your plants does the humidity rise? mine does(could be 15%) and this leads to a higher chance of bud rot in later flower. After I harvest my plants I turn the light out, the temps drop and the humidity rises (night) After watering the plants the roots drink the water/ food, as...

    Watering night before harvest

I am not a hydro grower, I grow in soil, had my fair share of bud rot over the years so I do what I can to reduce the odds

    Watering night before harvest

I don't wait for the leaves to wilt, just want the soil dry, as this helps to keep the humidity low and the buds dry quicker but, I do keep the temps low 20c and the humidity between 40-50%.

Removed a few awkward placed branches week into flower

good question. Nice canopy, guess week 2 in flower(12/12) looking at the tops. When one shoot grows taller than another, it shadows the lower shoots, the lower shoots will stretch and this shoot will produce a lower amount of bud for the space it uses, but the shoot is still using up light...

    mark's perpetual grow

I build a led panel made of houses hold light bulbs, total cost, under £150, 360w, most Growers said these where not very effective( 2700k, been told should of used 4000k), thinned the canopy out and removed load of fan leaves, in early flower, again told its not good thing to do. Used cheap...

Removed a few awkward placed branches week into flower

There always a tipping point, pot size and canopy size, every shoot needs space to grow, spacing them out every 6-10" is a must in my opinion, you want the canopy to look like a SOG in 6" pots, so 16 main shoots in a 2ft x 2ft is the tipping pot IMO

Removed a few awkward placed branches week into flower

You made the right choice, more is less, you don't want a plant with 20 main shoots, its better to have a few shoots that grow larger, one plant with 4 main shoots in a 29ltr pot weighed in at 205g

    Defoliation questions

The small fan leaves give the adjacent bud site food, The lower fan leaves work as a buffer for the plant(storage) that's why you check these leaves to find out what is wrong with the plant in 90% of cases.

    Defoliation questions

The plant is storing excess food in the old large fan leaves(buffer zone) so removing them will damage the plants health, but you don't need to over feed your plants

    Defoliation questions

I remove selected leaves as it slow the growth of that shoot, you can almost keep your canopy level by doing this if and slowing the vertical growth makes the bud grow thicker in flower. Plants with less shoots will grow taller and thicker, plants will more shoots will grow short and thinner...

your welcome fellow, I would thin the plant out now, the shoots left will grow larger and look more healthy.

    Defoliation questions

your doing well for your first auto grow, I would thin the plants out, just keep 4 main shoots and remove the rest(remove weak shoots), your canopy looks too bushy, this will slow the vertical growth.
