    T5 Lighting

I get 2-3 dry oz per plant using two of the 2 ft. New Wave HO T5's in a 3 x 3 area with 8 of the 3000k bulbs. Yes, you can get some very decent buds flowering with HO T5's. I've been using them for over a year now and have flowered 20 plants overall with them and am very satisfied. I've posted...

    Which System Should I Buy?

I would just get 6 five gallon buckets and ten inch net pot lids with air stones in each one. You can grow some pretty decent shrubs in them.

thinking about taking my first dive into the water lol

The 400 watt hps should have plenty of lighting footprint to cover both of your dwc systems with no problem from above, but you're right about adding side and bottom lighting to improve your grow.

need tips on rooting in rockwool

I do pretty much the same technique as angelsbandit, but prefer to use the Rapid Rooters over the rockwell. I've had better results with the Rapid Rooters with less ph issues, less algae and other growths.

    When do i harvest??

I can see all of the pics you posted. Looked at them a couple of times in fact because it looks like there are seed pods forming. Hermie? Seriously, look at the pods forming,; seed shaped pockets. Hope I'm wrong though. Good Luck. Go Green...Grow Green

    Lighting

A little pricey, but the HO T5's are great for supplemental lighting, if not for your entire grow. Check them out.

    Nutes for flowering.....

For flowering you need higher levels of phosphorous (P) and potassium (K) and lower levels of nitrogen (N). MG makes a tomato blend that might work for you, but I'd try to get the Fox Farm Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom if you can swing it at all. You'll be happier with it than MG I believe. Good Luck

Information and thoughts on nutrients on plants

Hey ya massacur, Yea, start them on one-fourth strength at the end of 3 weeks. They should be alright at that age to start nutrients. Watch them carefully for the 1st few days to see if any thing good or bad develops. Hopefully, it's all good and should be. From there on increase the nutrient...

    Nutes for flowering.....

If you are using Fox Farm Grow Big, I'd reccomend completing the Fox Farm nutrients with their Big Bloom & Tiger Bloom. The Grow Big & Big Bloom are meant to be used together throughout your grow while the Tiger Bloom is a supplement added during flowering. Big Bloom runs about $14 a quart and...

    quick "drip" question

I continue to run either the air pump driven drip ring in the waterfarms or the water pump driven diy dwc container drip lines I have just to add more humidity to my grow areas; not necessarily for feeding nutrients.

    Is Flushing Really Necessary

Hey Mon, Get a 2nd five gallon bucket. Put it next to the one you are growing in and transfer the plant into the spare bucket. You might need someone to steady or hold the top as you raise the rootball above the bucket lip to transfer it. Replace your water and nutrients or flush, whichever...

    Harvesting

The buds will contrinue to develop and finalize their maturing process if you hang the entire plant. The same thing I do with my tomatoe plants in late fall; pull the entire plant and hang it in my basement for a couple of weeks. The green tomatoes finish ripening to red and the foliage dies off...

Yet another 2700k vs 6500k thread

My experience is that I have had better yields with a mix of spectrum. Initially I had 4 of the 6500k and 4 of the 3000k and then switched to all 8 of the 3000k. My earlier grows were better. I'm still growing the same strains, same nutrients, etc. I'm switching back to a mixed spectrum.

    Waterfarm Mods & Tips

Cut a hole in the center of the top bucket and feed your rootball down through into the reservoir with an airstone. Your net pot should sit tight in the hole to keep your hydroton, silica rocks, etc. from falling through. You'll get very good results. I run my drip nonstop, but my girls get...

My seed sprouted but I need some help!

Congratulations! Hopefully "he" is a she. Just give it a couple of days. As the the plant grows it will most likely shed the seed hull on its own. If not, gently remove it with tweezers after a few days. Good luck. Go Green...Grow Green.

can you start in those pete pellets?

Transplant the peat pots with the netting still on or you can damage and tear the roots when you remove the netting. The plant's roots will grow through and rip the netting on its own as it grows.
