one thing i just want to confirm in my own head - IF there was really an issue with botrytis, would it indeed be early diagnosed by slicing the bud in half vertically? makes sense to me, but i have seen nothing in my interwebs reading about this.

and finally, here is that bud tip with the leaf that had one shriveled lobe sliced in half, all is green and lush to me.... ?? the chunk in the upper right is showing nothing but insides, like looking at the sliced side of an apple, total insides exposed

i just examined 2 dozen colas and saw no others like this one. and that tip bud in pic 3 is the very one that i sliced in half, and i saw nothing in there but did you? i really think that brown leaf was the result of that bud and another one getting hit too many times as i try to slip past it...

please point out exactly where and which photo, i have no clue what i am looking for. if thats the case i'll just harvest right now and hope for the best. planning on making mostly oil

went out with a uv flashlight after dust and before dawn and saw no issues anywhere, from what i understand most molds/fungus/rot will glow as well as insect eyes of course

that bud is in a bad location and gets brushed a lot when i pas by going to the corner so thats probably physical damage. started just walking through my basil now because i knew too much of that isnt a good thing

so you can even see the split stem, all looks green and healthy inside there, no fuzzy gray or white stuff and no black spots that i can see.

ok so 2 out of well over 3 dozen buds have a single dead sugar flower lobe, all else looks fine, here is the plant, and i took that one bud, photographed it whole then split down the middle. i am not seeing anything but if you see it say so. and if so, i would likely harvest tomorrow.

thanks for the bad news, but can you point out where and what to do next? some other's opinions as well. if thats truly the case then i'll harvest today

i agree, well said. i just made some oil from immature buds that were storm damaged and its fine with me - still going to go at least a week though, i am afraid of the bud rot sneaking up on me in this extremely humid climate i am in. plus i have to go out of town for a few days and i am afraid...
