DWC and Oxygen (an essential nutrient), not air, aeration or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

Seems a lot cheaper to set the A/C thermostat at 75 F which would keep the air temp and the water temp constant @ 75F. This would eliminate additional electrical cost of operating the water chiller. Thanks for sending the chart. J

DWC and Oxygen (an essential nutrient), not air, aeration or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

How about this. No electric water chiller, no chilled water, A/C controlled room temp 75F, nutrient temp 75 F, air temp 75F and continuous 100% -135% DO Saturation throughout the nutrient solution 24/7? This seems more ideal to me. The high continuous DO Saturation - Supersaturation will surely...

DWC and Oxygen (an essential nutrient), not air, aeration or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

Cheap is great, I like cheap too, but what exactly does cold water insure in your opinion? It definitely insures greater operational cost, more noise, more equipment in the way and more repair cost. When the refrigeration unit fails, what happens then... punt?

The Fallacy of Insuring Minimal Safe Oxygenating RDWC Using Hydrogen Peroxide

The Fallacy of Insuring Minimal Safe Oxygenating RDWC Using Hydrogen Peroxide – They say that if you are really into “cheap oxygenation,” then surely one of the cheapest and easiest ways to oxygenate your nutrient solution is to use hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). They say that H2O2 can particularly...

DWC and Oxygen (an essential nutrient), not air, aeration or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

Couple quick questions for you about chillers and chilled water. Chillers are not cheap and the additional electrical cost to run them is ongoing: 1. Just exactly how do you know if and when your water needs chilling? 2. What is the real point of chilled water? 3.Do you have a problem with...

Highly oxygenated RDWC nutrient solution - why not prevent fungal infestations

Root-parasitic fungi: How to control Pythium in hydroponics? By Noucetta Kehdi A dynamic, well-designed growing system, a clean, highly oxygenated water, a well-drained substrate, good ventilation, and the right temperature and humidity levels, are the main ingredients to success when growing...

DWC and Oxygen (an essential nutrient), not air, aeration or hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)

I can see where massive blast of (honey or molasses) sugar really supercharges those microbial colonies... like speed for microbes. Feed the microbes a heavy blast of sugar and watch them grow, blow and go. Nothing in the world like a sugar high. I saw a 5 YO kid eat an Lb od Snickers 1 time...

So what does honey actually do...? other than attract ants and flies. Would raw sugar work the same?

Your favorite airpump and airstones? and why?

Yes, O2 certainly does support combustion, especially physiological combustion at the cellular level. The greater the cellular O2 saturation (aerobic plants and animals) the greater and more efficient the metabolism (the cellular fiire) which is a plus for healthy plants and the good microbes in...

Your favorite airpump and airstones? and why?

Contrary to popular myth and misguided beliefs, oxygen gas is not explosive and certainly will not "blow-up." Gases like hydrogen, propane, butane, acetylene are explosive and can definitely blow your dress up if you are not careful with them. CO2 is not an explosive gas either. Plants love CO2...

You got it redi, that's all there is to it... supplemental O2, not more air.
