Recycled Organic Living Soil (ROLS) and No Till Thread

Used pallets are a GREAT way to make a compost bin... My friend has had one for years, and made his really strong by wrapping the whole thing up with chicken wire after it was built. (Did anyone see the chicken in my first photo?... Who ever said "Theirs no such thing as a free lunch", as...

Oriah's Garden - SuperSoil TGA perpetual medical SCROG

Lol, my buddy once made some cross with a Pakistani and Headband... It smelled JUST like that plasticy "new carpet" smell during flower... Thankfully, that mellowed a bit, and it was sorta fruity after some cure, but really weird to smell a plant like that.

It ends up being a pretty simple system, that flows with the season... I have a 4x4x4 cedar plank box that all my food waste goes into, and I add either grass/clover clippings or coco/peat/used soil on top of the fresh waste every time. Then once a month or so, when I clean my chicken coop...

I have two compost piles... One that I put "good" things in, in order for them to break down, and feed my plants. And another pile, for simply eliminating bio mass, and reducing my garbage footprint, this finished product gets spread on the lawn/flower beds. Dryer lint, newspaper, cardboard...

I agree. This is why I shovel my finished compost into bins and introduce worms, BD preps and let them do thier thing with it for a few months. Ive only got about a 5 gallon bucket left of this magic stuff, and its all saved for teas. Luckly, I have a pile just about ready to get my final...

Skip the leaf litter and pine needles for your compost pile. Leaves break down by fungal, rather than bacterial action, and in most composting situations, bacteria is what is dominating. So, the leaves are best "composted" all by themselves, in order to make "leaf mold", a product similar to...

    Vegan Super Soil

Ive made soil mixes that were "vegan". Look into powdered Nettle, Comfrey and Chamomile. If you want to buy bottles, look into Kushmans method... If you want to feed your soil, buy bulk herbs from the health food store and start a compost pile, there's that way too.

The rice hulls should be SUPER cheap if you can find them... $15 for a 50lb OMRI certified bag all the way in MI. But Ive heard that when they break down, they can acidify the soil, so proper adjustments of limestone will be needed. Ive been thinking to use them as a mulch outdoors, for long...
