The white prefilter can be washed several times before they start to fall apart. I suggest you do that before every grow. You can also buy replacements. I just dunk mine in water several times and ring it out.

If your using tables and flood and drain you will most likely want to do cubes on top of hydroton. If you're going to do drip then you can just do cubes only.

I doubt it. My water comes out of the tap at 8.6ph. I usually only get a little bit of ph fluctuation which is Normal with the plants using nutes and high levels of air being pumped in. Maybe .2 ph every couple days.

Depends on your Ppm coming out of the tap. Mine is 260ppm which is technically hard water. I've never had an issue with it. Unless it's like 400ppm I wouldn't worry about getting an ro filter.

Pm is like herpes for plants. If you're going to take clones of the plants you have now you will always have pm. It's just a matter of the right environment for it to flare up. If you got clones from someone they could have already been infected with pm as well.
