    PH Water EVERY day

You can always get a full test on your water, and use 100% of the nutrients it has; no filter needed. People use RO filter, not because their tap water is bad to use, instead, it levels the baseline for the bottled nutrients they add. If you understand how to use the tap water's nutrients...

    PH Water EVERY day

The reason for a yoyo effect in your pH is the carbonates of the tap water. ...let me explain, Carbonates = high pH If a more acidic solution is mix with tap water with carbonates in it, the carbonates dissolve over a couple hours. Since carbonates are alkaline, the pH of the total solution...

    PH question

A little tip on carbonates... Don't measure your pH right away, when using adjusted pH'ed tap water. As tap water becomes more acidic, the carbonates within dissolve. As the carbonates dissolve, they make the water more alkaline, and drive the pH back up. This is known as the yoyo effect. This...

Citric acid is an antimicrobial compound, so it kills the nitrifying bacteria. When doing so, ammonia and nitrite levels spike. Both ammonia and nitrite NO2 (not to be confused with nitrate NO3) are very poisonous to fish. ...so yes, citric acid will kill the fish.

My target level of Cl is actually higher than you'd think, about 100-110ppm. If I use phosphoric acid, I'd have to add a bottle at a time, as it's generally too diluted, and very expensive. It'd also make my "P" off the charts. Nitric acid would also make my N way too high, as my target for...
