Anyone Else Have Problems With Intense LED's and Organic Super Soil?

Under my Chinese COBs I developed some changes to my soil approach and that worked really well for me on that grow. Unfortunately I was overwhelmed by pests in the autumn during my switch to a QB96 with side lights(Samsung V-Series), and I didn't get very good results. Now that I have pests...

    Bad Dog Genetics

Water cloning is sensible, but there's a few reasons I have changed to this method(usually). Back in the day on Overgrow, I designed a shoebox cloner that used air stones in the bottom of a little tote with foam plugs to hold each cutting. The thing worked great. It could root 20 cuttings at a...

    Bad Dog Genetics

Gooey 13 lives on via the laziest cloning method around. I just stick them in a solo cup full of coir that is hydrated to exactly field capacity(basically what it can hold without dripping) and then I cut, scrape, apply honey, and then apply rooting hormones before I put them in the solo cup and...

    Bad Dog Genetics

Oh its done. Wet weight was approximately 8-10 ounces, but I'm not selling this stuff so that's as exact as I care about. The fan leaves mostly wilted off during flower and were removed. Look at the mulch layer. Some of the defoliation was definitely the bugs though. J1 Hashplant is going in...

    Bad Dog Genetics

Heavily depends on when we're talking about. During mid-winter it got VERY cold in there. We had a few nights that were around -30. I know that stunted the one set of them for sure. I'm certain it contributed to the stress level overall. As far as air flow, there's no specific airflow yet. What...

    Mushrooms in indoor container garden

Back when I could get my hands on spores, I grew these huges cakes in pyrex dishes and then I would use the spent mycellium as soil for my cannabis. This worked great but I never did see as much as a rogue shroom. Trichoderma kills the shroom mycellium. Old Tricky Ricky is a real pain in the ass.

Quantum Boards / Too much Yapping no proof

I switched to QB lighting and at the same time I got a bunch of plant pests and other problems. Despite all of that the QB still shows a per-watt improvement over my last setup and I know it can do so much better than it is. So even screwing up a QB setup can be an upgrade over an HID grow. I...

    Mushrooms in indoor container garden

Mushrooms vary immensely in terms of conditions and preferences. Usually its a great sign, but on more rare occasion it can be related to overly wet soils with too much food in them. Just keep vigilant about those things and you'll be fine.

How many use/used coots mix from buildasoil?(Think my cat peed in my soil that’s “cooking.”)

Why are people so weird about pee? Its just nitrogen! Human urine, from someone on a low sodium diet, is basically the perfect cannabis veg fertilizer(although I prefer composts). I have grown with urine in the past and it does great. Cat urine is basically just more concentrated and has less...

    Bad Dog Genetics

I am certain there's no glow of light from the diodes at night. I have all Mean Well drivers running off an Intermatic outdoor timer(yes it is digital, but if its glowing at night its not enough to see when shut in the cabinet with lights off). I will double check to be thorough. Here's my...

    Bad Dog Genetics

I know nothing about Bad Dawg genetics other than the fact that when my sseed collection was destroyed by heat, a kind soul sent me some spare freebie seed packs he had laying around. I got some interesting results out of them, but I have also had a LOT of problems with herming(literally 100%...

    Pest-related hermaphrodism?

I always thought that as well about the bugs. I just started to wonder recently when I read some guides that suggest that plant pests can cause herming. I have maybe upward of 7 types of pests I have found on them ranging from barnacles to aphids, but no spider mites(which is ironic since I have...

    Pest-related hermaphrodism?

Hey everyone. I have been having a hell of a problem with my grow starting mid-autumn of 2020. Pests decided to come into the warm building instead of being outside in the cold and then a severe cold spell nearly froze my grow completely. Now things are better in terms of temperatures, but I...

    24v vs 48v for Samsung V strips

Here is the control panel for the chambers. I have the strips dialed in right at 24v @ ~100W now but otherwise its the same:

    24v vs 48v for Samsung V strips

I've had the full side-light setup running now for at least a couple weeks and it really looks great in there. Definitely gets warmer than I'd like since I have no ventilation right now, but the strips themselves barely even get warm attached to the thick aluminum. I'm still not very happy about...

    Wooden shoes gone wild

I've been struggling with this grow due to a huge pest invasion at the start of winter and overly low temperatures in the middle of winter. The first wave of plants in this cabinet have performed very badly and in total created less than an ounce of so-so bud. I've been pretty depressed about...

    24v vs 48v for Samsung V strips

Perhaps a better question would be if the drivers are more efficient at higher voltages or if that's irrelevant?
