Hey everyone. I have been having a hell of a problem with my grow starting mid-autumn of 2020. Pests decided to come into the warm building instead of being outside in the cold and then a severe cold spell nearly froze my grow completely. Now things are better in terms of temperatures, but I have been having a really big problem with hermies. I am scratching my head on this one. We're medical growers just growing enough to supply our rather heavy needs, and we're really struggling to get this all going again after a few years being homeless. I have put a ton of work into getting good lights in here and I thought I had some good genetics, but I have literally had 100% hermie rate on everything I have germed. Could it be the bugs? I have most of them under control now finally, but the aphids are tenacious. They really hide in the smallest spaces to avoid sprays. I really need to get this grow stabilized and producing so I can stop feeling like I am dying all the time.
I have a QB96 overhead @85W and 100W of Samsung 3500K V-series strips around the sides, and I am growing in an organic mix I have used in previous grows with none of these issues. I am really hoping this isn't just an issue with the genetics. While I was homeless my beautiful seed collection got overheated while in storage and a friend kindly sent me some replacement beans and some autos too(which was really great of him). The only problem is I don't know much about the provenance of the photoperiod beans that he threw in as a surprise. The beans are probably fine, but I really am not sure and I have no way to test their DNA or anything like that.
I need to find a charger for my camera, but here's a pic of the setup so you're not all lost on what I'm doing here....
Loud N' Proud on the front left is nearly at day 100, while OJSDKB on the front right is at nearly day 130. Gooey 13 in the back is at day 15 or so in this picture(but is nearly at day 30 now). Unfortunately Gooey13 has also hermied a bit. I had to pluck hundreds of nanners off of Loud N' Proud, but then she mostly quit it. Now I am having to do likewise on G13. Its so frustrating. We really can't afford to keep buying weed at the prices it goes for around here(and honestly I am having a harder time finding it every day). I really need to get this hermie problem controlled. I have been vigilant about light leaks since an early problem with the chamber, but still the herming continues.....
I will try to get a new pic asap, and try to get pics of the some of the types of bugs I have been finding.....
