    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

Plants stretch in response to PPFD. They don't sense the height of a light, but they react to light intensity and, of course, color/wavelength. The best way to keep a plant short, in terms of light, is to use a veg light and give it lots of light. Veg lights have lots of blue photons and blue...

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

Everything looks great. Keep up the good work! Leaf tucking - rearranging leaves that are closer to the light so that the leaves lower in the canopy receive a lesser amount of light. I did that once until I got out my PAR meter. Light intensity falls off very rapidly so the effect of moving...

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

No. The picture is from my first grow of 2022. Current grow is below. After the 2022 grow shown above, I switched to one plant per grow because two plants was such a cat fight. I can't quite fill out a tent with a topped and LST'd plant so I'm going to try two plants now. One of the five in...

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

Any tips?- Yes, don't cut healthy leaves off a plant. If a leaf is damaged or heavily "senesced" or if you can't air into the plant then remove the leaf. Other than that, I would never remove a leaf from the canopy. I know that a lot of growers follow the practice of heavy defoliation with...

First time ever grower wants to do hydro ...

I wouldn't wait until flower. That light has a serious hot spot in the center. The PPFD map uses a (standard) 6" grid. At 12", which is a really low hang height, there's 1 sq ft of light at very high PPFD but the next grid square out, the values plummet.

    Germinating.

I always put seeds in a beaker until the radicle pops out and have had very good results. I started a new grow a couple of weeks ago. Three seeds in the beaker, two popped so I added three more, none of which sprouted. Both of the two that sprouted weren't in very good shape so I tossed them...

Maximizing Cannabis Yields with Dr Bruce Bugbee

Heh, glad you enjoyed it. I've spent a lot of time learning about "maximizing yields" over the past 3 ½ years and 90% of it is in that 1 hour video.

Recommended light intensity for autoflowers fluence spydr 2i 630w led

I've grown autos and photos. I don't grow autos any more because I found they grow too large. I grow in a 2' x 4' x 8' tent and, since I can't flip them into flower, which stops their vegetative growth, they end up growing very tall. With photos, I can flip them at day 40± and that allows me to...

Maximizing Cannabis Yields with Dr Bruce Bugbee

I agree 100%. I've studied a lot of his research and follow his advice. All of his cannabis growing vids are worth watching but the video that takes the cake, in my opinion, is the video that was released by a student of his earlier this year. Mitch Westmoreland is a PhD candidate studying...

    Bigger buds

Good that you've got a PAR meter. What light are you using and what are your light levels? "I would have defoliated a little better maybe the main bud sites would have gotten more energy to grow bigger. because the plants that I see on this site have bigger buds . I was just wondering if...

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

If the board/light isn't specified in the table, then you've got to eyeball it. The XS 1500 number is from my testing so it's as accurate as I can get it. The light was warmed up for 30+ minutes and my Apogee was calibrated at the factory (but tests out to +1.4%). Same with the Growcraft...

    Auto vs Photo

I've seen that perspective here om RIU and more so on another cannabis site that I frequent. No problem with it at all.

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

"I would recommend that you top and LST your plants and given them as much light as they can handle. " There won't be anything to LST until after you top. I top above the fourth node. Re nutrients - I know very little about nutes in soil other than that a big reason for nutrient issues are too...

    First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

I've never seen any proof offered to support that, I top all of my plants be the photos or autos, I can't make the argument that topping a plant reduces growth to any material extent based on plant biology. My first five or so grows were autos and I've done a few photo grows since then. The...

    Auto vs Photo

Perhaps you're thinking of cannabis ruderalis? Autoflowers are cannabis hybrids that have genes bred into them from cannabis ruderalis. As a result, they don't go into flower by manipulating the photoperiod. Other than that, they're just a cannabis indica/cannabis sativa hybrid.

    Auto vs Photo

Those were Gelato, probably from Nirvana. The autos and photos take right at 110 days. I suspect that's the case because the res is very large (28 gallons) and the roots can spread out as much as they want. I also grow them at >1kµmol. In the picture of the autos, there's a 330 watt light in the...

Iphone 16 images won't load on RIU

Decreasing the image size will result in images that can't be enlarged as much as an image that's stored with a larger file size. Also, the image itself is lower quality because the software in the camera has to throw out pixels to make a smaller file. And that's on top of reducing image quality...

    Auto vs Photo

Interesting info - I didn't realize that autos were that old. For first grow in 2021 (I did one grow in 2017, archived my tent, and then started again in 2021) I ended up killing quite a few seeds and, facing an upcoming hot summer, I saw that I could get a crop of "autoflowers" in "7 weeks"...
