    Leaf issues and general question

The issue can be nutrient availability or it could be nutrient uptake. My money is on the latter. If your nute mix is incorrect or if your soil is "defective" (if there is such a thing - I grow in hydro so mea culpa), the issue could be availability. Nutrient uptake is driven, to a larger...

First time ever grower wants to do hydro ...

Yes, two would definitely even things out. And I would definitely spend $26 for a Uni-T, or similar, light meter. It's money very well spent. I, admittedly and unabashedly, have a very strong bias to feeding my plants well and to using a light meter to make sure they're well fed and the reason...

    Jacks vs. Advanced vs. Remo

Hear, hear. It's all the same 16± chemicals. Some come premixed in bottles that have pretty labels so you get to pay Fed EX to ship water around the country. That just bugs me. I used Botanicare when I started growing and switch to Jack's 3-2-1 after my third (fourth) grow. My res takes 28...

Kind Led X750 thermal protection ??

Sorry to hear this. I would contact the Kind and ask them about the issue. It sounds like a defect. I routinely run my 330 watt light at >1100 and have no issues.

Good info. I'll give them a call.

    Does anyone grow perfectly?

It depends. Some 600 watt lights have the same uneven PPFD map that HPS does. Take a look at most of the HLG lights, for example. The max PPFD is in the center area and then values collapse fall off when you move off center. The center of the grow will get decent light but the corners and...

Are auto strains easier to grow

Wow, thanks for the heads up! What's the issue?

    Does anyone grow perfectly?

I've had some "Maytag repairman" grows where every thing runs like a Swiss watch. But that took me three or four grows. I grow in hydro and I'm very process oriented (30+ years as a software engineer). These diagrams might help. It's "just" pieces of the puzzle. Figure out how to control the...

    Does anyone grow perfectly?

If the ends of your leaves have a burned appearance, it's a fertilizer issue. LED's give off so little heat that they cannot burn plant tissue. Even if the plants are growing very quickly, as they're wont to do at 1kµmol, if your fertilizer is properly mixed, the increased transpiration due to...

Are auto strains easier to grow

I grew my autos the same as I did photoperiod except that I could give them a lot more light in flower. Autos will handle DLI of 70 or 80. I stopped growing autos because you can't flip them as you can with photos so it's much harder to control their growth. Two autos, one hiding in the...

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

There's a good argument to be made to buy multiple lights for a 5' space. One big issue is that getting an even canopy across 25 square feet is not easy task and multiple lights make it easier to light a grow.

Which led grow light to choose for a 5x5?

What's your budget? Why are you growing cannabis? Do you "just want to grow some weed" or do you want put time and effort into growing cannabis to get excellent results? The reason I ask those questions is that you can buy a light for a 5' tent for a few hundred dollars and you will get a...

    Trellis advice

Can't find anything about a KS2000. 16" to 12" will make quite a difference in PPFD. And foxtails, one grow. There are three plants in the tent with one just taking over the tent. I canted the light to try to light up all three plants. The only way I could get decent light on the small plants...

    Trellis advice

It has a good PPFD map but those plants are Kansas-level flat. That'll work out really well in flower. Just to nudge you - with a 12" hang height and 100%, that's a good amount of light for cannabis in ambient CO2 (or maybe 11"). You are running it at 12", aren't you? :-)

    Humidifier/Echaust question

$26 for a Uni-T anemometer will remove all doubt. I used it to set up the fans in my 2' x 4' tent and found that 2 meters/second is a little more than is needed to make the leaves flutter.

    Humidifier/Echaust question

Fan on left is an AC Infinity (osc), white fan is a no name brand, AC Infinity next to it (on the bar), and I found the little fan in the lower right on line at Walmart. It's a USB fan with two speeds and it comes in pretty handy. The hose coming into the tent on the right is for an AC Infinity...

That grow on the left is an incredibly uniform canopy. Nicely done!

    Humidifier/Echaust question

Agree. VPD is one number for two of these. And, unless you really muck up, temp and RH (VPD) aren't high on the list. I've never grown anything else but it does seem that cannabis is very hardy.
