If clones are important I’d run two ways. You can’t go wrong with a tray and dome . In the Dewey mister I wouldn’t add anything. When I did bubble clones I didn’t add anything but like you didn’t have consistent results.

I just up potted some clones,last run soil was amended with frass,alfalfa and kelp,compost .About 4 months ago.
I added 1/2 cup 444 to 5g today just before transplant.
Time for a transplant,you control height by topping and tying branches down so it grows horizontal more so.Will it grow in the ground?Or stay in a pot?
I find this also,60-70% RH for 3-4 days then slowly open vents.Moisture builds right in the new growth,then add too much light and they look like OP pic.
