    First official grow in progress!

There are some confusing claims from LofA on the lumen output of these lights. They have closer to 4600 usable lumens not the posted 6000+. I still think this is going to be more than enough light to push a small grow well into vegging. A little more light might be needed as the plants start...

    What Would Be Maxed Out?

i was barely able to veg 2 plants 12" tall then flowered them to about 3-3 1/2 feet tall. I had 4 floros and 1 plants barely produced anything due to the extremem lack of light. This was all in a grow box 1x4x4. You are going to need in the area of 7500-10,000 lumens/sq ft to produce fat dense...

    i need some help

germinate by soaking in a cup of water overnight. sometimes helps to scuff the surface of the seeds by putting them in a matchbox with fine sandpaper or an emory board inside. The seeds that float will be less viable than the ones that sink, not ungrowable though. After soaking overnight place...

First time growers - please help

Very first step is to read all the FAQ's on here and on hightimes.com the size box you'll need will be determined by how much you want to grow and how large of a box you can maintain. Try to get AS MUCH southeast facing sun as possible and good luck

Is 5000 Fluorescent lumens be enough for six seedlings/clones?

no not at all the recommendation you always are hearing about a certain number of lumens needed per plant is really only vital during the flowering stage of growth. During cloning, seedling, vegging and keeping a mother.... they can share alot of the same space and light.

Is 5000 Fluorescent lumens be enough for six seedlings/clones?

10,000 for flowering i think youd be very happy w/ somewhere between 6-8000 for 6-plant veg... depending on how tall you want them to be.... taller they get the further the lower leaves get from any usable light, especially w/ floro....... keep the floros damn near touching the tops of your...

    Pet store scent remover

After my dog took a crap in the house tonight i got to thinking. He is a beagle which can smell some 80x better than a human. In fact the Beagle Brigade is used in airports to sniff for produce etc... (not narcotics). We have to use a spray on the area he soils so he doesnt smell them out and go...

Temperature - in lap "sun" or "shade"?

try to measure the temp as close to the top of the plants as possible. 70-80F for veg is fine, a little cooler for flowering not going below 60F during darkness

    First official grow in progress!

good idea.... they need very little light during the germ/seedling stage, little more for veg, then tons for flowering. I wouldnt even use that HPS till flowering

    reflective glass

white paint is much better than tinfoil for sure here is a chart for "reflectivity" from Jorge Cervantes Growers Bible: Foylon 94-95% reflective mylar 90-95% FLAT white paint 85-93% semi-gloss white paint 75-80% flat yellow paint 70-80% Aluminum...

    reflective glass

sounds very interesting. I have no knowledge for or against this. Im guessing it will boil down to whether or not it is causing any hot spots due to the irregular surface.... ie the bumps from the glass beads

    First official grow in progress!

when i used them it was under flourescent lights only. heat wasnt an issue so neither was having fans set up. Im guessing with the heat from the HPS and the air from all the fans, your jiffy pots are drying out too quickly. I would keep watering/misting them according to their need. I define...

    First official grow in progress!

you could maybe try moving one light far left, the other far right, both aimed towards the center. Put your bowl in the middle and rotate it 90degrees daily
