    fluorescent fixture

I agree, i always try to hit up HD first... lol, hydro shit is always priced so high. heat is the issue for me as well. In your opinion should I vent just the light hoods or the entire room as well? the room is 3x5x9 and I want to use some good co2. but I'm afraid if i just vent the hoods that...

    fluorescent fixture

I agree, i did the same thing for my veg area, but I find that those bathroom duct fans from HD don't work that well. Its sufficient for the veg area, but for the heavy heat build up in the flower room, I might need a more efficient fan. It seems the the HD duct fans aren't compeletly 'closed'...

Thanks dude. I am working on the exhaust thing. I currently have the door adjar about 3 inches to 6 inches (depending on the out door temp) with a fan blowing fresh air into the room, keeping the temp between 82 - 86. With ghetto co2 (soon to change). I will be setting up a good ventilation...

how many plants are in that second pic with the HPS? Ohh and how high is the 400 w hps from the plants, in order to light the entire 2 X 3.5 area? Do you think that two 400 w hps is over kill for a 3 x 4.5 area?

    flushing before harvest

Anyone else with hydro experience have any input on this? Two weeks does seem like an aweful long time to flush for. Thats like 25% of the flowering time... lol

Exactly my setup of choice. That happens occasionally with those HID lights. It sucks, but he will never give you problems or ask questions about replacing it. Good luck

    flushing before harvest

Is it absolutely necessary to flush your plants before harvest? I have several plants in my flower room that are at different stages of flowering. They all get fed from one res, so it will be a challenge to flush the the ones that are about to be harvested and not the others. Thanks... bongsmilie

    Canadian HID Light Sources

Try and buy specialty HPS and MH lights made specifically for growing. There will be a difference. Also, most US stores will shipt to Canada for not that much more. High Tech Garden Supply is my favorite. Whatever you pay in shipping you'll make up in the cheap prices.

    My new aero cloner

I was wondering when is the earliest I can plant these clones? I just have a feeling that the roots would grow out faster once planted. That has been my experience at least. Here is a pick of one of the clones. The roots are there, they just aren't growing out fast enough. bongsmilie

    CFLs

What is the reported lumen output on one of the 200 w cfl's. If it is around 14000 lumens, which is typical of the 200 W cfl's found in the US, I would say around a 3'x3' to 3.5'x3.5' optimal grow area when using both lights.
