HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Aye-aye, cap'n! Should I have the fans up top or 1-3" from where the seedlings will be?

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Alright, temperatures are stable at 88°F with my lights 12" away from where the seedlings will be. I don't understand, I have 4 fans (soon to be 5) all properly ventilating yet temperatures are still very high... perhaps my thermometer is broken?

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

I was planning on opening up the baffle a considerate amount on the inside of the case to allow better airflow, and I will swap the the exhaust on the back to an intake. I managed to find another 80mm fan that I'll suspend from the top as you illustrated in your diagram. EDIT: There are filters...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

I'll go ahead and take a quick picture for you electronug, just give me a moment and I'll edit it into this post. EDIT: Here are the pictures with brief notations. There is minimal light leaking, which isn't noticeable at all during the daylight hours so what I figure I'll do is run my lighting...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

UPDATE: With the light baffle my temperatures were steady all night at 100°F D: I don't understand though, as I can grip the bulbs and they are only slightly warm, and when I put my hand in the soil it's cool to the touch. I'm at a loss here.

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Alright, I finished making the light baffle for the 120mm exhaust fan, I've put a lavender scented dryer sheet in it to get rid of that pot smell when it comes around (/sob). We'll see how it works!

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

I presume that this is what you were talking about? It seems relatively easy to build, and I'll try it out. Thanks for the help, stealth grow 11. +rep :) EDIT: The only thing I'm not sure about with this light baffle is how big it should be? They say it should be 5x the size of your exhaust...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

@stealth grow 11, that would ruin the stealth aspect of my grow though :( the average PC doesn't have cardboard tunnels sticking off of them, otherwise I would have used a drier exhaust tube.

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Temperatures are 90°F about an inch blow the lights, which confuses me as the lights aren't hot when I touch them, and the air in the case is cool. I need these filters in, as they are the only way I can trap the light. Right now I have a little bit of light leaking, but not enough to be really...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Might as well make this double post worth something! My temperatures seem to be running consistent at 84°F with three 80mm fans and one 120mm fan. The two intake fans are 80mm located in the front bottom, one 80mm exhaust fan located in the back middle and the 120mm exhaust fan located on the...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

That didn't even occur to me! I figured out it wasn't the lights though, so my @@@@ is set to go :D! The problem was the reflective lining. It was holding the side panel open, so I trimmed it a bit and now it works fine. However I will have to get some Velcro for future grows! I plan to get a...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

It looks like I may have to use the inverted "U" for lighting as my @@@@ powerstrip is too wide and I can't fit it into the case with the side panel shut. If I could figure someway to split my magnets in half, allowing around 1/4" of clearance I could get away with it, but for now I'm f*cked.

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

UPDATE: After going through hell and back I FINALLY managed to get that god d*mn m*therf*cking c*cksucking b*stard piece of sh*t Motherboard tray out of the case. I got two more magnets from RadioShack and Gorilla Glued all four to the back after switching to a different power strip and...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

Excuse me while I pick up my jaw. Thank you for that phenomenal picture electronug! +rep! I ordered my seeds from Nirvana today and they should be here in a week or two. I'll slap a grow journal up when they germ, or possibly once the grow is over so I can get it all in one big chain-post...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

@avrum, I know it's a high expectation. I figure the higher I shoot, the better I'll do. I work well under pressure and I'll put pressure on myself to ensure that I have those plants producing as much as they can. @electronug, I will admit, I did skip a bit of homework. I was on Rollitup with a...

HELP! 1st Grow - Heating problems!

No, I can't put anymore fans on the bottom front, not unless I gut all my reflective stuffs, bust the front shell off the case and do some pretty extensive modification to the case. I've only got three spots for fans. Something like this might work though, no? _____________ | ..@ @ @ @ ..| |...
