    Input Appreciated

No worries, I read the whole thing :) The best LEDs I've seen give comparable results to hid lighting. And those are the uber expensive ones using Crees and proper heatsinking. I get good results with DIY LEDs but that's after lots of research and a multiple grows under my belt. You seem like...

    Led Users Unite!

I would skip the 15w lights and get another bridgelux lamp. Advanced LED has nice lights, probably a more efficient implementation than the Chinese eBay cheapos.

    LED In PC

I put together a tutorial awhile back. Hey look, there it is in my sig! Plan on shelling out a little dough for quality LEDs, drivers, and the tools to put it all together. LEDs are perfect for pc cases though.

    Ill effects of cloning?

I don't think there is genetic drift until hundreds or thousands of generations. I have heard this happens to very old cuts, but no worries!

Reusing soil on the next grow

I make my own organic soil and I reuse it after each run. You have to re-amend it with goodies like bone/blood meal, kelp meal, lime, etc, but generally it gets better each time.

Please take a look at Super Silver Haze grow

Well I think they look good, but they will flower for a long time. Sativas are supposed to be long, spindly plants with thin leaves that stretch like mad. If they are haze-dom phenos the high will be wonderful.

    Fine-Tuning my DIY LED Setup

Check the datasheets of your whites, they may give you some far red as well.

First grow journal! LED+DWC+Winter (PICS! :D)

Way cool, nice job with everything. My light is also knna-inspired... that is, Osram GD+ mounted on an old heatsink. I'll tag along since I really am a hydro newb and am interested in trying it soon. Your seedlings look fine... the hardest part at this point is being patient and not...

DIY LED 220w Cree XTE + Philips ES

Amazing intro Supra, you cover pretty much everything a newbie needs to know. Now I'm going to have to upgrade my Osrams to Crees!!

    Fine-Tuning my DIY LED Setup

Agreed with this. The warm whites are my plants' favorites. They grow toward them just a little more during flower. I imagine a flowering panel full of warm whites would be pretty successful. Could be. Blue seems like a secondary spectrum in flower, but still necessary in small amounts. When I...

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

To help answer some questions I've gotten and to make the thread more informative, here's a redux of the notes that I took while reading knna's thread over at seedmine. It's biased toward the DIY construction side so I've updated it with a little info about the technology and LEDs in general...

    Fine-Tuning my DIY LED Setup

Hey snot! Based on knna's recommendation of 5R:2W:1B, in general you could add more red or warm white light and less blue. The 6500K gives you lots of blue as well. I think the amount of 660 is fine. Personally I'd ditch the 6500 since you already have blue and replace with warm whites...

9th week flower NOT MANY TRICHS????

I assume both seeds were from the same bag? They could have hermied and self pollinated, or picked it up from a rogue male somewhere. Some strains are really strong and don't have many trichs. Quality could be worse, equal or better than the bud you got it from--Just have to wait and see.

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

I also forgot to mention the Osram LEDs I'm using are series W5AM. I notice there are 645nm in stock at Mouser now, but not 660.

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

It is not very big--I believe 4x4" if I remember correctly. I can't comment specifically on LEDs with contacts you are describing... if that is truly the case my guess is that you could use either. Maybe someone else can chime in on that one. The problem with contacts on the bottom is that you...

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

Here are a couple shots of the bigger light. The heatsink I got cheap on Ebay. I used copper tape instead of wires, but honestly wire is cheaper and less exposed. I used 24 LEDs for a total of ~46W. If anyone has been to Rapid LED they have great DIY kits, but they tend to sell out quick...

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

You're totally right, I wasn't thinking. You'll need to meet the minimum voltage, or course. And yes, yes he did use a very similar light ;) I used the bright whites because I originally was going to implement the in my big light, then I realized I had enough royal blue. The 6500Ks were left...

First grow/stealth - need the experts

What soil are you using? Looks like there could be an issue there. I'd say that's more of a problem than the recent temperature swings. Cannabis can tolerate pretty crazy temps for short periods of time, especially in soil because the roots are more protected. Your pH could be off or there could...

Super easy DIY LED micro grow light

Not exactly. The current feeding them is .7A, simply multiply that by the forward voltage @ .7A (on the Osram spec sheet) which is around 2.2-2.4V, and you get about 1.6 watts per LED. You have to be careful when reading claims of wattage by light manufacturers as they are often bogus. They...
