yeah of the 2 you will probably get a female. the males will show preflowers first usually, and be bigger, but not always. get one plant harvested and you'll be on your way to buy more seeds.

True kong, In 12/12 from seed the plant simply grows until it's old enough to start flowering. This is *usually* when the plant shows preflowers in veg, although you may not see them. With 12/12 there is no question and the flowers show up as soon as possible.

This is a great thread. Remember to look at trichomes on the calyxes, not just the leaves. Leaf trikes tent to amber much earlier. Yes the plant will have a swollen look to it. The pistils will recede into the calyx as they fatten up. Then you know you're close.

Yeah pass on the bagseed. Too unpredictable unless you're sure of the parents. There are plenty of inexpensive seeds from smaller breeders with great genetics. Check out the breeders forums at icmag. Lots of great things happening over there.

Soil needs npk in some form. The amounts, if any, should be listed on the package. Fungi and bacteria simply break down the organic matter to make it available to the roots. So no, you don't need that extra stuff if the soil has enough already.
