    Preflower Q

Just like most intelligent people, he wants to know why. He knows you can reflower them but he wants to know WHY after revegging, the plants don't have preflowers on the new growth. Preflowers BEFORE you induce flowering.

    Running mh and hps consecutively

The plants in veg closer to the HPS would probably stretch more (not just because they are farther from the HPS). The plants in flower closer to the Metal Halide would have more resin and probably be a little bulkier. In general all the plants would benefit from the mixed spectrum. However, if...

    Running mh and hps consecutively

For the most part yes, but there are better ways to time it based on the plant's priorities. For instance in the last week or 2 of plant flowering, the plant focuses less on stretching and more on resin production. This is why for the last week or 2 of flowering, many people like to switch their...

    Who Cares About Ed Rosenthal?

I respect Ghandi. I respect what Ghandi did for peace. I do not respect Ghandi as a political and social genius. You can respect Ed Rosenthal for his balls, but that doesn't change his intellect when it comes to plants. I'm not discussing what he's done politically or how long he's been...

    Preflower Q

And then of course, from an evolutionary standpoint: The whole reason the plants can't flower in the first few weeks is for the same reason humans can't reproduce in the first few years. If we were capable of reproducing immediately, many birth defects and genetic disadvantages would be passed...

    Preflower Q

Seasmoke, I'd assume for the same reason they start growing smaller sets of leaves again. I'm assuming there are some chemicals in the plants that help it identify how healthy it is and how much growth it can support (how big it's rootmass is) that aren't necessary for flowering, but help it...

    Who Cares About Ed Rosenthal?

I don't think I've read Cerventile's book. I've read Greg Green's "The Cannibus Grow Bible" but no bible by Cerventiles. To me he's nameless, so I can't really state an opinion on it. Madazz, you can't have infallible logic based on how long someone has been doing something. People do their...

    Who Cares About Ed Rosenthal?

He's still just the author, not the mastermind. He's not the source of the ideas, just the teacher... too many people don't realize that.

    Ultimate Yielding Setup?

Thats the problem. Top layer has to be SOG with the bottom layer speared. This way the bottom plants are narrow enough to fit between the buckets of the top layer. If you tried putting speared plants on top, you'd have to let the SOG plants stretch out AFTER they fit through the cracks between...

    Ultimate Yielding Setup?

So there can be no doubt that using a Colosseum type grow can yield the most... But i've considered taking grows beyond that. Has anyone ever considered having two layers of grows? The objective is basically having "Speared" plants with a SOG underneath to catch the light leaks between the...

    Who Cares About Ed Rosenthal?

I just don't grasp why so many growers think "OMFG ED ROSENTHAL!". Granted, he isn't a novice... but so many growers look to what he says for absolutism. I've looked into more than enough threads and facts (Wikipedia is my best friend) and done enough of my own mathematical calculations and...

    Who Cares About Ed Rosenthal?

Can someone explain to me why so many growers think Ed Rosenthal is a genius? He doesn't know much more than a lot of us growers on this site (I'd say some know even more) and is even biased in quite a few ways. I just don't understand why Ed Rosenthal is considered a Marijuana Messiah for...

    Diamond Grow Light

I'd say it's quite possible to get 10-30% more (probably closer to 10%). Normal reflectors bounce the light directly above the bulb right back at the light bulb... that reflector angles it outward. It's more efficient than other reflectors simply because it makes use of otherwise unused light...

using ferts with miracle gro soil

All I can say is that HANDS DOWN my best ever plant was grown with half miracle grow and half vermiculite... It's a decent soil if it has something else added to make it less "hot" to prevent nutrient burn. I use FF Ocean Forest now and grow just as well, only I like the organic side of it. MG...

using ferts with miracle gro soil

FF Ocean Forest is definitely worth it... i pay 22$ for a 15cf bag up in Rhode Island... still worth it to me. Of course this all depends if you sell a little of your stash to make back your cost of growing.

using ferts with miracle gro soil

Miracle is fine it's just too strong... use half MG half vermiculite and pearlite (more pearlite = less water held and more vermiculite = more water held). Also don't give any furts until 2nd month and only weak ones. DON'T USE REGULAR MIRACLE GROW... plants are bound to die 4 weeks in.

    Breeding and Male pollen question..

Sometimes at first it is difficult to tell exactly which males are "good". If you are going to begin doing some breeding, use multiple male pollen on the same best female. You can then expect w/e males you get from that to atleast have halfway good genetics to contribute to the next batch of...

    12 oz every 3 months

Well that's only 336 grams, I'd say it's very possible. You'd be getting just over .3g/watt. Also consider most strains are advertised at about 500 or 600g per m2. You're basically doing that m2. I'd say you could expect 12 oz or 16 oz easily as long as nothing goes really wrong. I'd say do 9...
