Your exactly right. Sinks are much more complex than what meets the eye. So many factors that behave differently in any given environment. With all things being equal I was discussing the strips sinks in regards to how that particular design would preform if it were in a profile to fit QBs. I...

Fin spacing and the volume of air in between absolutely plays a role in how effectively a heatsink will preform.

My concern is that they will harbor heat in the narrow grooves and possibly do more harm than good? Is this a logical thought? Or are heatsinks, regardless of design, always going to help? For instance, if I am able to source heatsinks with similar fin spacing for my QB and Atreum boards...

What do you mean parallel branches to dim? I don’t have a problem dimming. Dimming wasn’t my question. And I don’t think anyone has to chance current around using their meanwell drivers? They dim linearly and are very simple. A pots a pot, people have used ebay pots for a long long time.

Yea pots are hit n miss. I ordered like 15 or so recently of varying designs and 11 of them were at 100k or higher. No surprise that all of the good ones were 5% tolerance.
