when I water my plants I put water through it till it runs out the bottom and set them back down onto paper towel to soak up the rest of the water and they grow alot more compared to when I warrered them till it was about 1'' from the bottom

its how much it imitates, I could be wrong and proibly am but please let me know but I think the higher the imatation light you can do the better

any CFL, TFL or any other kind of Floresent lights is your best bet in a smaller space because they produce less heat. I have 1 42w CFL (150w ou tput) and it doesn't run nearly as hot as a 60w bulb, I can have my hand almost touching it and I can beel the heat and its warm not hot, hope this helps
