She took a dump on me.

One of my girls is not doing so well. She's probably looked this way for 24 hours now and after watering 12 hours ago she's only gotten worse. Room temp is 74, rh is unknown, 24 hour cycle, 400watt MH in custom hood runs very cool and is 12" from canopy. Now she did suffer a small stem injury...

    Temperature/ Humidity

What about temperature fluctuations during 24 hour cycles? 16 at 78-80, 8 at 70-72? Would something like that make any kind of difference in the plants growth?

    Look What I just Scored

I traded this cow for some beans once. Long story short, have you ever seen a could dwelling giant's penis?

    Water Storage / Aquarium waste

I have some large aquariums that I use the water from to water my plants. Because of this I have to replace the water in the aquariums often. This means adding chemicals to break the chlorine bond or just letting the water off-gas and release the chlorine. I've brought a 20 gallon barrel into...

First time, a few questions (Lost coast OG)

You could be looking at a week +. I like to place the seeds in a towel. Place the towel on a square or porus filter material. And then both of them in a larger tray. Keeps the seed in a moist environment while not fully submerged. Just wet the towel and leave a little water in the bottom...

    Home Made Co2 Tutorial

Adding more sugar and yeast is just going to be a waste. When yeast breaks down sugar and releases co2 it creates alcohol. Typically when co2 production stops its because the alcohol concentration is greater than the yeast can survive and it has all died. This requires a clean fresh start...

    DIY High Bay Fixture

Thats how this idea works. Allows you to place the ballast anywhere you want out of the way. Any regular extension cord can then be placed in-line to extend the distance between the two. No need to try and suspend the extra weight from the ceiling.

    Stretchy stem or normal growth?

Noted. Will try a different approach the next time. I pre-germed, planted in small pots and sprouted in a terrarium under a small lamp for heat control. Once they opened I moved them under the t12's. There would lie the gap between ideal lighting and soil break. Thanks.

    DIY High Bay Fixture

This is a guide for converting High Bay HID fixtures for indoor use. The idea is to replicate the setup of commercial grow lights. I've purchased a couple of 400watt MH/MV ballasts from a second hand store. Inspect them for any signs of over-heating, yellowing around the socket or...

    Stretchy stem or normal growth?

40watt t12 x2. One "grow" bulb, one 4000k. I've kept the light at no more than 6" since they've sprouted. It's currently 3" away.

    Stretchy stem or normal growth?

Is this considered a "stretchy stem" or is this average growth? Does this need to be replanted up to the cotyledon leaves to support later growth?

Moving seedling from fluorescent to HID

I have some seedlings under fluorescent t12 40w bulbs x2 and I'm wondering when is a good time/growth stage to introduce them to the 400watt MH. I've read posts referring to the height of the plant as the reference for when to move. In my experience with gardening and other plants I understand...

    DIY cfl rig question

Small aquarium hoods for ten gallon tanks sometimes use the dual lamp sockets. Another great place to shop for guerrilla supplies is the thrift store or a Habitat for humanity re-store. They take demo donations from houses. This means ceiling light fixtures. They're the ones you're looking...
