Thats how this idea works. Allows you to place the ballast anywhere you want out of the way. Any regular extension cord can then be placed in-line to extend the distance between the two. No need to try and suspend the extra weight from the ceiling.

Noted. Will try a different approach the next time. I pre-germed, planted in small pots and sprouted in a terrarium under a small lamp for heat control. Once they opened I moved them under the t12's. There would lie the gap between ideal lighting and soil break. Thanks.
