    Humidity

85 is hotter than you want and 60% is the top for humidity. I'd say you need both air conditioning and a dehumidifier. Ideal would be 78 degrees and 50%

Is 30x magnify enough to see trichomes?

You can buy a 60-100x pocker microscope at Radioshack for $12

    should i flush

pH can be a horrible roller coaster. I'm in my first grow and I checked pH only when changing water weekly. Then I was persuaded that I needed to check it daily. I was finding it all over the place, over 6 one time and 8 hrs later 4.8. So I was testing and correcting and the plant got worse and...

Finding and examining the right trichomes

My understanding is that there are two (or is it three) kinds of trichs located at different places. And that only one of these are the kind you want to look at as they cloud to decide when to harvest. Is that correct so far? If so, where are these trichs located (and where are they not) and...

    Using a PPM Meter

It seems like most small growers don't worry about a ppm meter. I've been thinking about it but I'm not clear on how you actually put the data you get from it to use. How do you know the correct levels for your situation? What steps do you take if it is high or low? I found one for $55 that is...

Roseman and purpdaddys guide for my Bubbleponics setup from Stealth Hydroponics

The above is a great post, very helpful! Is an EC meter a better way to go than the total dissolved solids measure? I've never even checked water temp in my aerogarden. I just assumed if air temp was within range water would be too. I would think a food thermometer would work for water temp?

    Anybody got a strain recommendation?

My stealth bubbleponics is ordered. I have three white dwarf seeds. I was only going to do 3 but roseman said go ahead with 6 especially dwarfs. So I'm looking for something else. I like Attitude Seeds and was looking at lemon Skunk and that new Smurf thing. Odor may be a problem so I'd like to...

Roseman and purpdaddys guide for my Bubbleponics setup from Stealth Hydroponics

Sounds like maybe I could rig something about a foot up to hold the left and right edges of the top. I guess I'll have to have it in hand, I'm just anxious and trying to get a jump

Roseman and purpdaddys guide for my Bubbleponics setup from Stealth Hydroponics

OK, can't take a chance on bad water. I just hate throwing 6 of those plastic jugs away every week. But you can't buy distilled water in your own container. I'm still trying to picture what you mean by "place in between two shelves?" I was thinking that when you pick the top up, the tubes will...

Roseman and purpdaddys guide for my Bubbleponics setup from Stealth Hydroponics

My bubbleponics order is in. Two questions about water. Is water that has been filtered and reverse osmosis treated as good as distilled? I can get it where I can fill 5 gallon bottles I have. Distilled I have to lug out of walmart in gallons. Second, In trying to visualize the unit, the top is...

    New Member, New Grow!

You need to think of what you are doing now an experiment and the goal is to learn as much as you can from it. Briefly, which AG do you have? If not a 3 bulb light it isn't so good and will need more light later. The AG nutes are not very good either, use them sparingly 1/4 to 1/2 the...

    pH - argh&*+$#@*&%!!!

Without a doubt the huge problem with the aerogarden is the small tank which makes pH hard to control. Mine tends to drop in a short time. I use a Hannah digital meter and yesterday calibrated it with 7.01 solution. Last night I left it on the high side around 6.0. This am it was 4.8! Adjusting...

    Is Flushing Really Necessary

I thought part of the idea of flushing was to reset the nutes from a baseline of zero. In other words, when you keep the water it has some nutes in it at a higher level than others because plants don't always use them 1:1:1. So when you add the nute ratio you want, you are adding it to who knows...

    My 2nd AeroGarden Grow

I've seen leaves I thought were dying come back. I cut them if more than half the leaf looks dead now, if less I give them a chance. Leaves are good. It doesn't make sense to want more light and fewer leaves. If an ugly leaf is working and helping the plant, it's beautiful to me.
