Can someone recommend a good HPS setup?

Yo ho ho everyone, Im veging at the moment with a 150 watt halide and plan on continuing till early-mid October. And I need to scout-out a decent 150 watt HPS setup for when its time to flower. :weed: The thing is, I dont need a fancy fixture or reflector. I plan on seting-up a cool-tube...

    Cutting Circles :|

Those are nice but they are a bitch to use if you arent using a drill press. I recomend you pick up a set of hole saws. Ebay sells shit ones that work pretty well for unbelievably cheap. Heres a link to a 16 pc set for under 15.00 shipped...

    Confirmation needed: Flushing needed? PICS

Yeah, could be. Wanting to give them an early boost, I added low-level ferts to the soil mix when I did the first re-pot (at day 12). I added 1/4 a cup of bat guano and 1/4 a cup of 5-5-5 organic all-puropse powdered fertilizer. Then I made a batch of compost tea and watered them with that...

    Confirmation needed: Flushing needed? PICS

This should be an easy yes or no for all you experts out there. After searching the forums for a while, Im pretty sure this is a simple nutrient overdose but I just want to make sure. Ill make it easy on you all and make this a poll. Write something if you want, but a simple vote would be...

Experimenting with MISTING cooling...and defying death...(born2killspam, dont look!)

Thanks for the reply, born2kill. That makes sense, and thats pretty much what I thought transformers did. I also understand now why I was safe from the sockets. Even though I admit I didnt get it until the moment I was writing this post and reviewed your first reply. As you said, they are...

Experimenting with MISTING cooling...and defying death...(born2killspam, dont look!)

Im not too worried about mold growing. Ive got plenty of ventilation and with that, coupled with the excess heat, all the water evaporates within minutes. I will keep my eyes open though and if any starts to grow I will figure something out. Yeah, I didnt think it was too dangerous either and...

The Union Movie: The Business Behind Getting High

You really think they're concerned? This movie shows how much money is made by keeping pot illegal. The ones controlling legalization dont give 2 squirts of piss what the drug lords support. So long as they keep getting paid for searching-out and putting those drug lords and small-time growers...

Experimenting with MISTING cooling...and defying death...(born2killspam, dont look!)

That was actually my original idea; to use a timer. Although I dont have one that allows you to set that many cycles and Im not aware of one where you can set a cycle any shorter than 1 minute. Besides I realized after doing it this way how much I love having it controled by the thermostat. I...

Experimenting with MISTING cooling...and defying death...(born2killspam, dont look!)

Thanks guys. Ive been thinking of ways I could make it safer. To stop the moisture from getting on the sockets I thought of some sort of rubber cap with a hole in it (for the cord) to fit over each socket. But I dont know if they make anything like that, and there's no way I could make one...

Experimenting with MISTING cooling...and defying death...(born2killspam, dont look!)

Aloha, I posted a thread earlier in the week about the problems I was having with my skyrocketing So Cal temperatures and am happy to say that I have now reached a safe and steady level...both temp and humidity. I would like to explain how and perhaps help another grower cool his or her small...

whats a good soil that has nutrients in it that you can find at a usa nursery?

Hard to say, they each have their benefits. Cant go wrong with perlite. Its more commonly used anyway and more stores carry it. Thats the white stuff you see in most potting mixes.

    Temperature fluxuations

Thanks cruzer, yea Im in So Cal. Was around 90 today and is looking to be that all week. Maybe when I put together my cooling unit Ill try and work something into it that cools the pots as well. What I was planning on doing was to have a small ice-chest with enough water in it to suberge a...

    Temperature fluxuations

Hey guys, I'm battling a heat wave in So Cal right now and we dont have AC in our house. I have a very small grow cabinet that's less than 5 cubic feet and it's very hard to control the temperature. Before you ask, unfortunately AC is not even an option for this grower. Therefore Im being...

You only need one or the other. Home depot/Lowes sells em. They dont cost too much...maybe a few bucks a bag. No more than $5.

whats a good soil that has nutrients in it that you can find at a usa nursery?

E.B. Stone Organics makes a good line of organic soils that are sold in the US (at least California anyway). I've had good experience with that line. You can and should also add some other sources of nutrients to whatever mix you get like worm castings, bat guanno, peat moss ect. You also might...

Beercan CFL reflectors! Cheap, easy and effective! Photo how-to guide

Hey all, So I had an idea that Im pretty proud of and thought Id pass it along to my fellow growers. Its the least I can do for the wealth of knowledge and ideas youve been giving me over the years. Hope you like my first how-to guide. A few starting points: Be very careful when cutting...
