was it difficult for you to find 2" u channels? i went to like 4 stores before finding out i needed to order them from somewhere special.

    Your yield on a HLG550?

i went diy with strips for tihs reason and boy did costs add up after realizing theres metal, wiring, drivers, tape, etc all to add on top.still cheaper but when doing 4000-5000w its soooo much work

    Your yield on a HLG550?

yeah 510 vs 620 was strange, i messaged hlg about that and they said they dropped the 550 to 510 but had the same output/results (i guess they changed other efficiencies).

nice! so no cooling involved truly? for mounting, each strip seems to be on a solid aluminum stick or are those u channels? and for the frame (the sides) those do look like u channels to connect all the strips together, is that correct?

1 driver for how many 46v strips?? wow x_x btw, looking at your metal: is that u channels on every strip, 2 inch width and ~ 2 feet long? and for the frame, the sides area also U channels or L? and the center between the 2 strips, is that just a flat long aluminum piece? i had a lot of...

    Your yield on a HLG550?

curious, why kw/h? watt is already a unit of energy/time, unless the kw/h helps normalize the overall "grow time" for comparisons?

can you explain the placement/stadium/silo ideas briefly? i figure placement may refer to scrog/sog

    Samsung F562B Linear Strip Build

is the wiring effort mainly the fact that its 2x the amount as a series connection (+/- sides need wires nonstop)? didnt know 240s were the best bang, figured the extra work would kinda equal out? more plugs, more wiring, more outlets, timers, soldering, cable/driver management, etc. bummer...

    Samsung F562B Linear Strip Build

yeah the mission was to power a room with like 50-100 strips depending on the room and minimizing drivers. thoughts on this? lets take 70 strips as an example. adding a resistor is so much extra work! :(

to run the most amount of strips per driver, what is best? i was intent on running constant current due to ease and simplicity, but 46v 1.12A strips (50W) had me picking an expensive hlg480-1400a driver (343v max, 1.4a max) which meant 7 in series before the voltage went too high. ideally...

ah, so no way to do 20-40 hlg or gavitas all at once then?

    Samsung F564B Linear Strip Build

nice! i would love to do that. i have no idea what a distribution block is or if this is way easier than i think, can you explain? also, what driver/light is that? curious how the math adds up as i presume all you're caring about is how many amps in the circuit to make sure its within driver specs?

    Your yield on a HLG550?

good point, i keep forgetting about the time. i guess there isnt an ideal measurement then, eh?

    Your yield on a HLG550?

if not sog and scrog, what are the other methods called? is it the ones where they just throw a plant under and let it grow?

    Your yield on a HLG550?

watched the video, thanks. going to go thru that journal post over time since its quite dense! so the key is to get the best umol/J for LED's when determining quality? I'm hoping the high end (1.9, 2) of that 0.5-2.0g/w for led is the samsung diodes?

    Samsung F564B Linear Strip Build

that was my exact experience. went with a hlg480-1400a driver that had 1.4a max, and 343v max. will consider parallel in the future now that i know that wagos are basically junctions in real life :)

total voltage drop on a circuit for mine is ~320V or so. any issue with voltage being high?

is this something that can control 15 -30 lights (gavitas or HLG's) at once? like timer all of them? running 15 timers is annoying

HLG550 vs Gavita? Anyone with experience with either/both?

nice link of info, can you share what conclusion i should get from this in terms of the topic on hand?

    Your yield on a HLG550?

awesome, thanks for the info. i guess my 1g/w was more of an HPS figure rather than LED. how can an LED design (using same, good lights) end up with vastly different yields, I mean a watt is a watt regardless of design right? unless the range is due to nutes and poor growing method/conditions?
