    400w closet organic s.c.r.o.g. - Jack Herer & Unknown

The yield was 7.3 dry oz. after smoking some samples. I can do better next time.

I'll try. Keep in mind it's typically not kosher to ask unrelated questions in someone journal. Your humidity needs no supplementation. Humistats and thermostats change nothing. They will control a device that will heat, cool, humidify, or dehumidify. You have a humidifier, but don't seem to...

please help me clone this plant...

Have you ever clones before? Cloning a flowering plant is no different than cloning a begging plant with the exception of the rooting time needed, and the additional revegging time. Get some rapid rooter plugs, pH water to 5.8, soak 30 minutes in a bucket with an airstone. Cut shoots at a...

Do you have low humidity? That is not often the case in indoor grows unless being drastically over a/c'd or in a very arid climate.

    10.0 Uvb Light

Ooh ooh ooh! I got big news. I found a PAR-38 flood 70w externaly ballasted broad spectrum MH which emits a 3" circle at 250uM/cm2 at 14" and a much bigger circle at the intensities you are getting, from 24+". But it gets better, there are wide floods that are narrow spectrum mv bulbs that...

    10.0 Uvb Light

You sure about that? I checked and found you mentioned a chart on the second or third page but don't post it. In researching what the uv index is and hoots calculated, it seems to be not very usefull in determing uv-b content. It measures 290-400 nM and weighs the results against a lot of...

Who agrees SCROG is outdated and inferior to SOG?

    You smoke 8 lbs/year?!

    10.0 Uvb Light

I edited that. How are you determing a uv index of 2 at that distance? Hopefully not of the math I just discussed. 1. I would expect a chart referencing the values at distances from the bulb or a 3D energy plot. I expect a lot. 2. I would want it to be a supplemental bulb like the...

We were discussing a hypothetical bulb, not the tubes currently made.

    10.0 Uvb Light

Understand your math is skewed. If I follow, you base the supposed "requirements" of uv-b on the aprox. .2 watt/sq ft. And you suppose the lamp outputs 2 watts worth of uv-b since they have 10% in them. Well , yes and no. They have 2 watts worth of standard output fluorscent value. This is by no...

    10.0 Uvb Light

the amount of usable radiation emitted by reptile lights is small. They are designed to be used in a terranium or over a cage. Typicaly these cages are short and in tall ones, a perch must be made up high to allow the animal to climb into it's comfort zone. These bulbs are almost useless more...

To Cooltube or to not cooltube

There is a phenomena whereby once a human has spent money on something, or feel like they have stumbled upon a great discovery, no facts an convince him or her of it's unworthiness.

    10.0 Uvb Light

Most of what can be seen here is people showing pics of early flowers, making claims they see a difference in three days or so with no before/after sequences. Meh. If you wanna run a test it needs controls. You can't hook up a bulb in the middle of a grow, notice improvement, and claim proof...

    10.0 Uvb Light

To the guy running the 70w 10000k hqi's unshielded : STOP NOW! This is very bad for you and your plants and can even damage the insulation on your wiring. The amount of benefit from the uv-b is nothing compared to the damage the uv-a is causing. You are unleashing dangerous levels well beyond a...

75 watt bulb in a 40 watt fixture?

Those are HO bulbs. Fluorescent T-12 tubes come in standard(SO), high(HO), and very-high(VHO) output. 40,75,110 watts respectively. Each uses it's own specific ballast and putting higher wattage models in fixtures with lower wattage ballasts offers zero benefit, and in some situations may not...

But don't feel too bad. Mine wasn't much better this time either ;)

Who agrees SCROG is outdated and inferior to SOG?

90 days to make 2 lbs using 2kw of light is not efficient. You are getting .15 gram per watt, per 30 days. That math assumes you use the 2kw the whole 90 days. I will assume you use less for veg, so the gpw ratio is probably a bit higher. Nonetheless, you should try to get much higher than that.

GROWER IN DILEMMA: How to confront a possible fellow grower?

Not that it hasn't been said yet, but stop all this nonsense now. Yes he grows. He's "told" you that numerous times, while also telling you he isn't "telling" you. Do not force it. Like cr8z said, you are here, right now, asking growers how to ask questions to a grower. LOGIC. So what do you...

can i use this 18 watt light to grow?

It's not fair to put up an inferior product and ask people not to say it's inferior. Can you use it? Yes. Will it yield well? No. Will the buds be dense and dank? No. Should you get a new one? Yes. That is simply not enough light for even one plant to thrive and flower well. This...
