I'm veging right now under the same panels Ledbudguy us using and I\m in the process of picking up some 350W panels for flowering. I am of the same opinion as you about 3W chipsets, as long as they have the right lens angle, being able to penetrate no prob.
IMO anytime you go straight from clones to flower the plant lacks the maturity to reach it's genetic potential and thus you sacrifice weight and THC content. Trying to find the link I used to have on an actual horticultural study about that. Best scenario is to wait for pre-flowers but I think...
Great looking grow amigo :-) Sub'd + rep
Remember mites drown very easily so regular misting when the lights are off can be a great way to whack em and the plants don't mind water :-)
One thing it seems everyone agrees on is that LED's are great for veg so I'd def recommend for seedlings. Just seems like the light is more gentle gentle and the plants are lush and deep green under them.
Thanks amigo. The panels are supposed to be released for sale pretty soon and I've got some tech info on them but been asked not to publish it yet and trying to stay on their good side to see if I can get a couple panels comped :-)
Okay used my good camera with the remote flash so as to get some good quality white light so you can actually see the plants because the LED's light washes everything out.
What do you think of the penetration of those lights? Do you think a higher powered panel especially with more high powered LED chipsets would make a dramatic difference? Mind you for 170W panels you've got quite a few good size plants under them so in the end I'm sure you'll do well for grams...
If it has 4000 hours it's done. Def grab a new bulb as soon as you can because that bulb has probably lost over 40% of its output and no point in wasting watts :-)
Didn't figure for you being in the southern hemisphere but that makes sense :-)
The tarp method will work fine, just make sure it's a tarp that isn't light permeable. You need one that will blackout the plant.
Is the ballast in a box? If you open the box should say what it is (but make sure its unplugged at the time of course). Gonna guess It's a 1000MH and that bulb is near the end of its usable life but like you said very hard to tell with the camera compensating.
He'd said earlier (although I can't find it now) that he was due to come down Christmas Eve or Christmas day. Based on the trigger date and that it is Kush I was thinking that was a little early but the CO2 does mature things quicker so that might be right.
Our grow stores sell blue spectrum CFL's to use for supplement HPS for vegging if you only have one light. Might wanna try adding that. Also out home centers sell this frost wall insulating wrap that looks like silver bubble wrap. You can see it in my pictures. Concrete walls are great for...
You don't have the plant near a big yard light or some other large light source that is on a lot during darkness do you? MJ needs at least 11 hours of continual darkness (and 12 is usually considered the safe standard) to build up the proper amount of flowering hormone florigen.
Had a roomate...
