How much is his 280? I'm guessing that probably the max rating so it will probably draw somewhere around the 150 watt mark but maybe ask him so you can compare.

Well I will certainly say that who ever is answering their emails knows their stuff. The 660 and 720nm Phytochrome PF and PFR relationship is certainly one of the more advanced concepts of horticulture and I think most manufacturers just aim for the four peaks of Cholorophyl and don't worry...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

Yeah I'd like to think I can hit those numbers but quite honestly I don't look at manufacturers claims so much as what other people have done with similar set ups and try to keep it as realistic as possible. This has been a learning process and one of the things I've realized is that you need to...

You are absolutely right on all fronts! We are charged by the kilowatt/hour and wattage is all that really matters. Also, LED manufacturers generally use the largest number for advertising Wattage which is the cumulative Max rating of the individual LED's. The thing to remember is that LED's...

One other thing to remember is that LED's consume different power for different wavelengths. Their draw might be rated at 350mA but the forward Voltage is different for the different wavelengths so the consumption is different. No wonder its so easy to confuse the consumers and don't think...

I'm the Magnum lone wolf on here so far I think....lol. Hopefully soon there will be four wolves, running around rollitup, looking for hookers and weed!!!!! Anyway, check out the link to my grow journal in my signature. I'm on day 25 in flower. So far things are going really well and for...

IMO that's a decent light but not great and certainly not for the money. Equivalent to $320USD give or take. It's 36x3 watt LED's so 108W panel. Cost wise it's got to be one of the most expensive lights on here for the wattage and it doesn't have IR or UV although the warm whites may provide...

    The Future; Induction Lighting?

Nicely done! I made a similar argument once defending my LED's (don't hate me) that basically pointed out that the only way HID was cheaper was if the comparison consisted of running two grows and then tearing down and never running again. I know LED's aren't the most efficient producer of...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

Today was day 25 of flower. How big a plant are we talking? To answer another question you had directed at LedBudGuy....when he was talking ideal temperature, I firmly believe that a huge part of his success what that his confined space kept the room temp up. I think he was running...

The whole LED wattage thing is pretty confusing. Seems like most manufacturers just use the total of the max rating of the individual LED's in their panel. For example my 357 Magnum is 119x3W led's, Pro-Source 180 is 180x1Watt LED's. The Stealth Grow 602 claims an actual draw of 350 watts and...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

The 357 Magum uses 60 degree lenses. That was why I went with it. I think that the other big confusion (other than wattage) with LED's is lens angle. A 90 degree lens will provide 43% less intensity than a 60 degree lens. That's basically Kessils claim to fame. The sharper the lens angle...

    Hempstar 3 Stage LED Grow

Wow! Lots of chat in the last day while I was busy. LedBudGuy thanks for jumping in. In terms of my opinion I won't bother to write a ton because LBG pretty much nailed it. 3W are totally needed. 1W panels just don't get the penetration. Even 2W aren't as good. I think that the ONLY limit...

Think for ease of comparison I'm gonna try to make my first three pics in every set be from the same perspective. Would be good for time lapse later.

I think its gonna turn out to be pretty much bang on. I know 600's real well as I ran them for years. So far, other than the plants looking healthier (gotta love LED for that) I'd say I'm on track.....but the weighout will judge

They asked me for feedback when I bought the lights and I told them that pretty much everything I looked into panned out with their company and I really like their history (ISIS) and I liked their knowledge and customer service when I phoned but I freaking hate the reference to 1000W and think...

I want to see a Blackstar grow, a Kessil grow and a Pro-Grow (Hydroponics Hut) grow....all exclusive. Kessil is bright as hell but it just totally reminds me of my LED mechanics flashlight and I want to know what 36 watts can produce. Viagro grew with Kessil but he's not into numbers so...

That sounds very realistic in a plant that grows to that pot size.

If you go right on Kessils website is says the same thing. 2' diameter circle so yes four in a 4x4 and that would leave a hole in the middle so definatel possibility for a 5th.
