So 400 would work and 600 would be better, just what I thought. So I will probably go with a 400 and some floro's on this one and then add another light for maybe my second or 3rd grow, cool thanks for the help.

So my question is do I go with a 400 or 600 HPS? Am I gonna gain that much more in my tent with the number of plants that I am growing to justify the extra cost? I was also thinking about keeping the shop lights in the tent once I go over to flowering, along with the HPS, for side lighting...

Yeah I purchased a 3x3 tent and I was planning on using a 600w HPS. I think that should work well.... Hopefully lol, because that s what i bought. My big concern is watering and nutes, I dont want to over over water and I dont want to nute burn them either.

By shop lights I mean 4 foot fluorescent fixture with t-8 bulbs producing a 6500k spectrum of light, I ordered the bulbs on line because I already had the 2 fixtures just sitting around. If all goes well I will upgrade to a 4 bulb t-5 fixture and use the t-8 fixtures for side lighting.
