You should run the light for a while and check your temps. If it's hotter than 85 in there you're going to need more aggressive ventilation and/or cooling.

Wet buds can lead to mold, plus rain means less usable light. I'd be concerned.

For cuttings, less than 50 watts is fine, but you want to give them closer to 100 watts per plant for the flowering stage.

Halogen is a no-no.

I'm of the opinion that one shouldn't hack up a plant well into flowering unless absolutely necessary. I'm a big fan of topping and FIM'ing, I just like to do it while still in veg.

I say you're better off not touching the lower leaves. If they start to yellow, let them fall off naturally. Let your plants get as much energy as possible from those leaves. I could see if you were indoors and the lower leaves weren't going to get any light anyway, then it would make sense to...

"Best" is completely subjective. I can only tell you what has worked best for me out of the handful of brands that I've tried, and that's the Foxfarm trio(google it).

I've done a few grows with fem seeds and all sexed as promised. The only way you'll get herms is if you stress the shit out of your plants or if they were from poor genetics. Pretty sure DNA wouldn't do you like that.
