The ballast is mounted inside the hood, and it seems like the light itself is producing the majority of the heat, and the door was wide open. Might have to go with the ac. Thanx

So I got my new 400w hps. Its not air cooled :sad: And i need some ideas to cool it down. I set it up in my closet and kicked it on to see the temp change. It was warm in there without the hps, at around 80 but with the hps, temps hit 92... I need a way to cool it down in there soon.

What strain is that? My buddys's got an outdoor that looks a lot like urs, and it's in about the third week of flower as well. That being said, his does have more buds on it, but not tons. someone on this site recently turned me on to using molasses for flowering. its packed with potatssium, and...

Good read there. i use 24/7 just for sprouting, then once they're gettin their first set of real leaves, I work my way down to 18/6.

... but don't stop the N all together! Do like green day said, go with a higher P to promote flowering. If u had no N, then the leaves would suffer, buds get good stuff from the leaves.

... mine too... If the red light is too hot, it's gotta go. Just doesn't make sense if u have to keep it too far away from the plants to stay cool enough not to hurt em, u'll lose lumens the further away it is, depending on the light, which isn't gonna help very much if at all.

keep an eye on ur temps in there, and if u can, keep the fan on 24/7. The plant may have a N def. NOW because people forget their plants need N too, even during flowering. I'd start with the temps, get em down, and NO MORE MIRICLE GRO, just distilled water. If u want an idea of ur fert levels...

What are u doin to keep the temps down in that box? That plant looks stressed, maybe from the transplant, but it looks more like its from heat to me.

Definately kick the m.g. Watering 4 times a week just sounds like way too much, but i guess it depends on how much u give it each time. Hopefully u weren't using the miracle gro soil too, it has slow release crystals in it that release the nutes EACH TIME U WATER! That may have been the crystals...

I thought the leaves drooped when it was thirsty, but ur doin hydro so that shouldn't be a problem.... I had a plant that the heat got to as well, the leaves didn't droop, they curled under and turned almost white. Whats the ph ofthe stuff in ur res? Did u damage the roots?

sweet. I got two fans in there already and it stays pretty cool, for now. I'll be adding another fan once i get the hps runnin and keep an eye on the temps in there. thanks guys
