U CAN use fluro's or cfls all the way, but i feel theyre best for vegging. Watt-for-watt they just can't compare to HID's. I'm somewhat with cruzer here.... I mean u want just one light for sure for 6 plants... That's assuming ALL 6 germinate and grow of corse.... But as far as 400 watts...

Remember, the most accurate run-off for checking ph is the first few drops. After that readings are less and less acurate due to the high water content already in the soil. Let it dry out then check it again.

A swithchable ballast setup would definately be a good idea. Cfl's work great for vegging, but Hid's are by far the way to go for growing imo, especially when it comes time to flower. Heat can be an issue though, so save urself the headache and get somethin with a remote ballast, which doesn't...

Damn sorry to hear that:neutral:, hopefuly she'll come back. Mine's looking good thus far, flushed her with some oxegenated water lastnight, got the ph back down around 6.5, and it's definately NOT looking any worse on my end today.
