You think this will work?

Ok. I have 5 or 6 seeds and I want to start growing. I just have a few questions.

1. How much space would I need for 6 seeds?

2. Is it possible to use only fluorescent lights for every stage? If so, how many watts should I use for 6 plants?

3. If you can't only use fluorescent lights, can you use metal halide or high pressure sodium for every stage? Like can I just buy Metal Halide and that will be good? Or will I need more than one kind? And how many watts?

you can use one light. for 6 plants the most I would use is 400w

Start them a couple feet away, After a couple weeks move it closer. like 18" for a week, then a foot away or so. then keep it within 8" to 12" from plant.

check out my cabinet grow for ideas, lots of info.

U CAN use fluro's or cfls all the way, but i feel theyre best for vegging. Watt-for-watt they just can't compare to HID's. I'm somewhat with cruzer here.... I mean u want just one light for sure for 6 plants... That's assuming ALL 6 germinate and grow of corse.... But as far as 400 watts... depends on ur setup. Basically a 400 watter will sufficiently light a 3x3 area for growing, a 600 watter will light a 4x4. 6 plants under a 400 would have to be kept somewhat small, a 600 would allow for a bigger plant but it's all up to u. Hnestly imo, i think 400 is MINIMUM

The only thing is, this is my first grow. I wanted to buy a cheaper light to kind of just learn a lot about growing and get some weed out of it. After my first grow, I'd definitely be willing to buy a better light, though.

You certainly can get enough CFLs for 4 plants inexpensively. You will want 6500k(blue) for vegging and 2700k(red)for flowering.

HPS will give you a larger yield and denser buds but if cash is limited CFLs will get you some smoke. My first grow of two plants cost me around $100 to get going and I ended up with a couple of ounces of decent weed.

If you enjoy growing you will find a way to upgrade your grow every chance you get, better nutes, better lights better information. There is nothing greater than seeing improvement with each harvest and being able to enjoy the fruits of your patience and work.

Let us know how it goes and happy growing.
