The lightbulb itself is more important than the lamp fixture. If it is a cfl(fluorescent, spiral tube) then he may get a little plant going. If it is an incandescent(plain old house lightbulb) then it's prob not worth all the hassle unless you are just bored and want a pet to feed

Haha ya I was worried about that too... I always chicken out when it's time to top them so I let em grow. They always say if you keep raising your lights they will stretch to it. I tried keeping them as low as possible but they kept reaching for the light

Did the deed. Here's the finished result. The one I moved was the worse looking one. The leaves haven't opened yet, seems they are being held shut by part if the shell. I think that's the one that took over a week to sprout out. Notice the big one that I planted the same day
