Dude you can definately trim off as many fan leaves as you want, especially the ones getting in the way....check out my grow, i have trimmed mine 4 times and each time has been a pile of leaves....for example... and this is how my plants are looking right now I am a definate believer...

ya, basically tie the branches out as flat and as far out as you can, and just repeat the process until you have as many tops as you want....and ya mine had a nice top from the re-veg i got lucky :bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint::bigjoint:
