Id go with system #2 worth the extra 10 bucks or whatever

or just let some normal tap water sit out for at least 24 hours. works for me. after each watering I just fill the bottle back up and put it in the closet for 2 days till the next time I water. cap off of course.

yup, always a good idea to cut the big ones in half so the little guy can support the amount of vegetation and continue to grow and form roots
