Depends on your choice they both cost around the same but with hps you have to get a good cooling system. Hps is the way to go but i only use cfls for seed germ and clones then t-5 for last month of veg and flowering. It keeps my heat issues under control with out loud squirel fans and those...

guys serisely tho if your using cfl just and its a small grow with one or two plants just put a small rotating fan that you can get from a dollar store hang it somehow towards the top by the light and rotate the heat from the top to the bottom to even it out cfls make heat but nothing to write...

just have a fan blow across them i use t-5 8 bulb four foot fixture for flowering and just use one fan on rotate on hight to make a wind storm so that the stalks and stems get really strong.Never had heat problem. Edit 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering.

For me this was always the best way a week before switching from 18/6 to 12/12. i also super crop and tie to the sides to hold the middle open if needed. Let the plant recover for the week before when you flip the light time around it you have 1/3 bald plant that lets light in and is healthy...

I use fox farm and never had a problem at all. I always gotten the yellowing towards the end of flowering like the last week because of not using the flowering nutes. If there is a way to stop that all the way up till chop without getting that nute taste in the finished bud let me know im all ears

Get 6500k for the bulbs for vegging with the highest watt you can find. Try a little granulated sugar in the water during feeding 1 teaspoon in a gallon of water is good. Dont over water the plants every two to three days is good.

Put a rotating fan in there to make a wind storm like outside to beef up those stalks. and get yourself 6500K cfls for vegging and 3000k and 2700 for flowering. Get as many as you can and good rule of thumb is if its to hot for the back of your hand its to hot for the plant. And get some nutes...
